Ойындар

This is it, the final official week in Season 1 on the 2022 iRacing calendar. To close out the season, the Global Mazda MX-5 Fanatec Cup heads to Laguna Seca for 10 laps around the historic Central California track.
We’ve got Dave Cam once again to show you the ropes around the 2.238-mile, 3.602-kilometer, 11 corner course. Corners, braking points, and how to safely navigate the corkscrew using visual aids are all talking points in today’s video. Grab your notebook, because between the elevation changes and other tricky components, there’s plenty to go over at this track.
The slow, methodical approach is key to learning any circuit, but maybe slightly more important here at Laguna Seca as it is one of the most widely used racetracks on all of iRacing. This venue also holds a special place for Dave as it was his first career race on iRacing, as well as his first career iRacing victory.
Let us know if Dave’s guide helped you pick up the pace for this week’s venue. Be sure to check out his other track guides on the Traxion.GG channel. If this particular video was a help, leave a like, hit the subscribe, and ring the bell for future notifications. Better yet, just keep it pinned.

Thanks for taking the time and effort into making these very helpful videos. I'm brand new to simracing so by following your guide I was able to knock off a whopping 5 seconds and get down into the low 1.40s. I watched a few of your videos on your other channel too and I love your smooth and patient style.

Hello @traxionGG and @davecamm. Let me start by saying I am new to Sim racing as a whole. I have about 2 to 3 weeks of xp. I just got my D class with a 916 IR (dont laugh to hard. lol.). I have a logitech G290 set that I bought second-hand (the braking is bad but getting use to it). These videos are great for me. Before I watched your video my best lap was a 1:45:.800. After watching this video and taking some notes, I was able to to hit a 1:42:900 in about 30 mins of practice. I know 1:42 is still about 4 seconds of the pace, but an almost 3 second drop in 30 mins after this video shows the value of this video. One of the biggest issues I am having is oversteering the car. Not the car oversteering, but me over driving the car( Turning to tight and not letting the car neutral steer and not using all the track). Do you have a video/ videos that can help with this?

I left rookies week ago and did my first races at class d. My avarage is 39 seconds per lap but opponets are 37.8-38 per lap. I did many practice, watched a lot of tutorial and It’s mindblowing for me that people at similar iRating are just out of my range by a second 😅

Blimey, just as I think I'm getting good, I go and "figure out" the track for myself and am running 1:40s. Watch your video once and can get in the 1:39s. Then I come and re-watch and your "nice and steady" lap is 1:37.5. Why does it look so nice and steady when you do it, but feel so hectic when I'm doing it?! I know the answer is more practice. Maybe my goal is to get into the 1:38s by the end of the week. Rewatching your video I already see one place I'm lifting too early, and there's also a little VRS stuff I can watch. Look forward to watching Mac from the Back race here soon!

I’m starting from making a One Minute Thirty Eight point 6 second lap time as my fastest qualifying lap on record. That was done right before my 4th race in Fixed Fanatec MX-5 at RLC. Honestly that’s with still more I think I can manage, as even on that hot lap I missed my normal entry into 3. But after doing that, I started Pole position, by 9 tenths, I might add. Unfortunately I’m an idiot and forgot to put it in 1st before lights out. I then got obliterated, (4x) and then got shafted on the exit of turn 2 mere seconds after, when the guy ahead failed to find his gas pedal (same guy who hit me on lights out) and I rear quartered him. Totally my fault and another (4x) I promptly left, shut the PC off, and went for a walk. I came back to my flat to search up a track guide. I wanted to know if I had finally gotten a decent understanding of when to use the pedals and what amount, and it wasn’t too far off from yours! Well, actually mine was sloppy and not at all as calculated as yours… and I still have the racing line on… anyways watching this video I realize, I have no real idea of what I’m doing, and I learned a decent amount watching this! I know a little more than I did before and tomorrow, I’m turning the racing line off, following your advice, and practicing until I setting a 1minute37.xx for sure! Thanks for this video Friend! Cheers
