This not first shear-drant video where the LAFD tries every valve but the one adjacent to the hydrant.

Question. I saw a video of yours, Light Force 94 at a shear off, and they seemed to have the same issue of getting the cover off to get to the valve. Is the cover that hard to remove? Just asking.

when the streets get repaved, the valve is often blindly covered, making it harder for firefighters to access. thanks for watching

Is there 3 valves for the one hydrant? Or they are just not sure which one it is or?

If its a ring network you would have to isolate the hydrant from both sides, that is possible

Is there some reason as to why heavy duty bollards are not placed near the hydrants? This is obviously an issue, as it's been happening for decades now....?

New ones usually get that in some areas but its cheaper to just send out a bunch of firefighters in the aftermath i believe, also its safer for the ones hitting the hydrants

Makes me wonder why drivers don't steer away and go straight towards a hydrant. It's a lot worse than hitting a pole or a tree. 2000GPM 😵‍💫

Seven The cat, on a traffic collision involving a sheared hydrant where the driver/patient are still on scene, LAFD dispatched a task force (T66, E66, & E266) and a paramedic rescue (RA66). the engine and rescue are tasked with patient care, the light force (T66 & E266) is tasked with shutting off the hydrant, as light forces carry the equipment to do so. and like mentioned above, engine and rescue split pretty quick when there was no patient to asses. hope you can see that everyone has an important assigned job in this "waste of money"
