Lady Masako - How Losing yourself to Rage will cost you everything

Ойындар

How Lady Masako's entire family was butchered over jealousy, anger, and arrogance. Lady Masako lost everything and is possibly the saddest character in the game of ghost of tsushima

    True. I played through that part recently, and she's just so... empty and soulless after all this. I can only wonder what happens with her after the end of the game.

    she lost like 9-13 family members its those numbers or inbetween i forget but its understandable at this point in this game I don't doubt that she feels like she has nothing to live for jin and the fact others are suffering is the only thing keeping her going now 🤷‍♂️

    Also wanna add that this game happens in a matter of probably 2 months. So, losing her whole family literally overnight, plus going on a vengeful rampage (without even mourning first, but how do you mourn this in the middle of a war/invasion?) for 2 months? Yeah, that's gonna take a serious toll on her. How could anyone recover from all this?

    @@blutarchmann9070 Even less. The First Mongol invasion of Japan in 1274 lasted a couple of weeks. Even if we were to assume that they held Tsushima for slightly longer, they probably could have held it for another week or two (if they didn’t immediately leave). She lost her husband and sons at Komoda, and the traitors attacked the Adachi estate on the night of Komoda. So yeah, overnight. Which is pretty sad.

    Starting Lady Masako's quest line I initially believed Sogen's own actions where driven by personal vengeance, perhaps her husband had committed some brutal act against him in the past but no, he was just collaborating out of a grandiose delusion. Then by the end of it all we are reminded that yes, petty jealousy is a killer. Literally.

    I think this is a perfect example of revenge, stripping everything even memories of her family. I’ll really do wish we had more side quest with these characters after the story was over or in the dlc 😢

    No one deserves what Lady Masako experienced her husband burnt alive her sons slaughtered their wives fallen in battle before her eyes her grandchildren/grandchild murdered "Little Natsu she was just born" she had to bury her infant granddaughter no parent should have to bury their child but Lady Masako had to bury everyone she loved in one night Revenge is always a fools game but it was the only thing that Lady Masako could see each of the individuals on that list deserved death and she gave that to them but it did not change what she had lost she had only moments to grieve yes she had a moment with her husband and her sons but she never properly took the time to grieve and when her path of vengeance was over Tsushima was no longer her home now she must walk alone as the last member of Clan Adatchi She continues living as the only survivor when her children and her children's children had fallen I can't imagine a fate more cruel

    That’s how at least half the missions in this game are unfortunately, you go to save someone’s relative but it turns out they’re already dead and you have to break the news to them. I enjoyed this game a lot but those moments made me very sad.

    Of all the tales, Masako's hit hardest for me (perhaps because I'm a grandmother, so I understood her desire to slay everyone involved). I was with her for vengeance every step, but wow the poor woman went batshit. When she threw down with Jin, I knew that no matter who we found at the end of her trail of suspects it wouldn't be enough. And it wasn't.

    I do have a question. The other Side Tales serve as foils and warnings to Jin on what happens if he lets the Ghost persona overtake his whole life. (Norio, Sensei Ishikawa) But what lesson does Lady Masako's tale teach to Jin?

  • @saikoakuma

    @saikoakuma

    24 күн бұрын

    Masako let her justified grief and anger drive her to increasingly brutal actions to the point she tried to kill Jin because he wouldn't let her torture a monk that was only holding to his principles. She's also a warning that all the pain and hurt he's accumulating in his quest will still remain after the Khan is dead and he'll need to find a way to live with it, just like Masako must.
