Lady Gaga Cosplay: Making The LED Matrix Mask from the VMAs' Chromatica Medley

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

How to make Lady Gaga's sound-reactive LED Matrix Mask from the 2020 VMAs. In this build, I uncover the actual materials used in Gaga's mask and tweak the design to be a simpler version that’s more appropriate for cosplay.
To complete the costume, I also made Gaga’s bodysuit, Wig and Accessories, and a coordinating "Brain Piano" costume. I’ll be making a video about how I made each, so be sure to subscribe for more. :)

    It’s hard to say, the mask itself is made of cardboard and foam so a crafter should be familiar with that construction process. The LED matrix requires familiarity with electronics, soldering, and programming, or at least familiarity with uploading code. You can find my code on the blog but I didn’t write a tutorial because it would be too much effort to explain. There are links to my resources tho! Good luck with your project. 🙂

  • @TechnoChic

    @TechnoChic

    Thanks! No, moisture wasn't an issue. The mask was open below so there was no air trap like the medical masks we've been using for disease control. When I went out on Halloween, I wore a cloth mask underneath to be safe. :)

    Firstly with sincerely no insult intended: allow me to say that you are of the few that the "obligation to use a mask" has worked in favour of.. As attractive as you are overall: Your eyes are outstanding and very much add to the impressiveness of your final products presentation. That said: Albeit you have had a good example of "what is to be done" mapped out in-front of you thanks to the shares of the original crew... You seem to have a VERY well streamlined method mapped out for it. In plain site it may seem as you just looked/copied. But in reality you have done so much more work than what your humble presentation has left us spectators to think. Thank you so much for sharing this and the many other projects... May you and your channel grow as best as they may. I shall be forwarding your channel to my son to subscribe to ... He is actually a good bit younger than yourself as of yet but is hoping to go for mechatronics in his graduate studies (yet in highschool). The manner you have made your project (this and the few other actually. I just felt need to write to this one as since it was the one that brought me to you from the Instructables) presentation is very much an influential outline of how much fun it is to engineer such things. All the best for you and thank you for your time and effort... Sıo VERY appreciated!
