Beautiful. I said it before, but whenever I see and hear you playing one of your "Standard Sessions", I think of you and the guys during the pandemic, and how important that was for so many, and that will always be to me a sign of your character - as well as your awesome talent, obviously. Remember all that hair, dude? Hope you're keeping well and enjoying life pretty much back to normal. All the best all the time. 🎉😊❤

Thanks Chad! I always struggle to play something fresh on this tune. After transcribing your solo, the changes finally make perfect sense.

@@klaus8456 nahh even Chad would agree with my assessment. I'm a 64 year old Jazz Pianist former Saxist. It's just a fact his tone like Ernie Watts and Breker and Jan Garbereck even Sanborn via alto is that full blown post Coltrane metallic thing but Dex is pre-Coletrane broader darker fat sound but Dex blew hard at times too but darker. Now Dexter had a truly phenomenal tone it must be pointed out definitely his own thing.

@@klaus8456 So yeah just came back two years ago from 6yrs I Copenhagen where Dexter is definitely God and for good reason. But yeah I always loved Dex and Trane and Getz I say completely unapologetically.

@@paxwallace8324 Dexter and Chad sound totally different i know, but in these 2 fragments they sound quite identical in the head, Dexter in his own stuff has a thick sound that almost sounds like 2 tenors at the same time, Chad to me in his own stuff sounds like his concept is to play "thick" but to my ears maybe has a too light strength reed and sounds really "modernified" . Again in these fragments he ALMOST nailed it (like i said) but outside/apart from that its 2 different worlds.
