The Lada Niva Legend, formerly called the Lada Niva, VAZ-2121, VAZ-2131, and Lada 4×4, is a series of four-wheel drive, small (hatchback), and compact (wagon and pickup) off-road cars designed and produced by AvtoVAZ since 1977. Initially aimed at the rural market, later models also targeted urban users. The three- and later five-door 4×4 hatchbacks were sold under the Lada marque in many markets, and have been in continuous production since 1977.
This Niva is powered by a 1.7-liter petrol engine that produces 76 hp. The Niva has a top speed of 137 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 19 seconds. It has a fuel tank capacity of 42 liters and a combined fuel consumption of 11.2 liters per 100 kilometers.
The Niva is known for its rugged off-road capabilities. It has a high ground clearance of 220 mm and can wade through water up to 500 mm deep. It also has a low-range transfer case that allows it to crawl over obstacles at slow speeds.
The Niva is not the most luxurious or refined SUV on the market, but it is a capable and reliable off-roader that is still relatively affordable today. It is a good choice for people who need a car that can handle rough terrain and bad weather conditions.

Oh my god,what a classic! I still see these all over the place in Slovakia :D ;) Also recently almost crashed into one when it attempted to overtake someone from opposite direction but was too slow :D (not a joke) It is strange to see one as a Citybee rental car.

This thing is built for country side, not for overtaking on a highway. :D It smells of a gasoline inside the car so it's a proper mystery on the wheels. The Citybee experimented for a while here in Latvia with some strange cars, and this one actually got some decent media coverage as the customers complained on various things about the car (including gasoline smell). Then when te Russia invaded Ukraine they took this car off the list. Soo the video is actually shot pretty long time ago. :) Happy you have some relation to the cars I'm testing. 👌

@@SimpleDrive Yeah i know,that happened on a a backroad tho :D Gasoline smell is kind of typical for it and other low end former eastern block cars (Niva is made since 1977 and not a lot had changed since besides interior looks :D ). My dad had a Škoda 105 and it smelled heavily like gasoline inside too. I find such smell...nostalgic :D Oh,thats interesting to hear. Here I have never seen anything like Lada Niva for rent by any company ever. Yes,thanks. I now mostly see them in villages and nearby moutains,one or two are "living" in a village nearby ;) As a kid i thought they are pretty cool :D
