Got a chain dragging somewhere underneath HM105. I've heard it on two different videos now. Interesting equipment and catch.

in texas its very common to hear because of this auto chain mechanism they have that throws strips of chain in front of the wheel when activated but i can't imagine why LA Co would have that in their rigs it doesn't snow here.

I agree. Must of been part of a bundle package or maybe one day they'd hope for a mutual aid call to Tejon Pass or Big Bear City. They should get maintenance to tighten it up to get them off the ground. They are adjustable. A dragging iron chain throws sparks everywhere, start your own vegetation fire. Plus constant abuse of dragging a chain will deform it eventually or even break free and at a high rate of speed would become a bullet.

Awesome video, figuring LA City runs a HazMat task force, the LA County engine that reads HazMat, are they crossed trained, or carry specialty tools? Also, probably super obvious, which rigs make up their HazMat task force?

LA Co. HMTFs are the engine and hazmat unit some stations have a hazmat tender that carries extra equipment but have a staffing of 6 on HM(to include the tender of applicable) and 4 on the engine. All are hazmat trained. LA City has 1 full time hazmat squad and 3 other cross staffed hazmat units in different parts of the city.

@@SoCalFB2 Okay; very cool; I didn't figure I saw LA City HazMat running with a tender, or Engine, but did not want to assume.

I don't remember this for sure and I don't know if anyone else will but is Deluge 105 or 87 still in service or did they eliminate those units?
