LACMTA ( Metro ) # 4424 - 1982 GMC RTS T7J604
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
These RTSs were rebuilt several times while they were in the LACMTA Fleet. Their original powertrain was DD 6V92TA engine and Allison V730 transmission. During their last rehab, these buses recieved Allison V731 transmissions, had their original DD6V92TA engines rebuilt, and Luminator Horizon LED Destination and sidesign installed. The 1982 GMCs are retired from the fleet as of 2008. Photo and recording of 4424 by me

I remember riding these every day back in 2007 on Line 620 when I was in 7th Grade. This bus was freaking fantastic ^_^
That RTS looks short. Must be the 35ft model. I hope RTS makes a come back in the future. I hate some of the wacky new designs buses are being made to.
I love that 6V92 with the V730 scream
some of these buses were repainted into the MetroLocal scheme and also had alcoa silver rims. Some of these buses were also used in the 2006 APTA National Bus Roadeo 35ft contest ( Irvine, Ca ). They were loud too.
@MetroLinerXLZ yay i love it when this has the 6v92 set at that standard. Our 1992 D40HF here in Vegas had that configuration as well as Buffalo NFTA's D40HF.
Man do I miss these on the ex line 255. 😄
@newyorkfan16 That is correct. In my recording, the engine's idle speed was set to 700 rpm.
Yes,the 4400's were almost all repainted to the new metro orange and silver.They were also touched up on the inside as well,but,never got ava announcment's or the led screens that tell you the time.And,they had the old radio system,no orbital atms system.
It was on route 201 before.
(I might be a tad late, but I'm just able to make some time to actually see some YT material.) WTF?! Dude, if I could only shorten my recording of this bus (which I rode on the 176 line) w/o cutting out the ooey, gooey, chocolatety chewy parts!!! Damnit!! Yours definitely sounds good though. Gotta add this one to my favorites list, seeing that I'm a GM-head.
@MetroLinerXLZ but when you recorded it, the engine had a higher RPM when the bus approached a stop
pretty soon the RTSs will be no-more in L.A. as well. I wonder if and when will Gardena get rid of their 1997/98 NovaRTSs ?
did they ever get the chance to repaint these?
@1985jon oh ok
HaHaHa this recording was some foo riding on the 176 going to the El Monte welfare office on Telstar/Aerojet where the recording ends lol
