It's just funny coming from the rebellious generation of the boomers. Boomers rebelling against the greatest generation creating the children that are the adults they currently complaining about. 0 reflection. 0 self awareness. I enjoy Phil though. He's what that generation should have been.

@@ellencox8415 I think it's mostly the gen x generation that become the pansy parents. Most of the boomers were still old school. But the gen xers are the ones that brought the millennials into this world. and now the millennials have all the cancel culture babies. I think the mistake that the boomers made was not teaching the gen xers how to be parents. But the boomers were on average that last generation of parents that believe in discipline.

Allen you're tasked with a hard job. Consider listening to this with your wife and pray together for guidance. I pray she has ears to hear, her heart softens,, and the scales removed from her eyes. May you both be given wisdom on how to raise spiritual warriors! The Bible says bring up a child in the way they're to go and when they are old they will not depart from it. Write scripture down and hang it up around the house. Stand on the word and be Bold in these times! I know it is not easy as the wicked one is running rapid. Stay grounded and dig into your church. Be strong in your faith! God has your family in His mighty hands. May God bless you!

If possible at all, I would encourage you to take her out of public school and find a faithful Christian school, faithful Christian online school, or homeschool. There is nothing good for her there, and being a good influence on others is still entirely possible even outside of her actually attending the school.

Yep, totally agree! I am a gen X, and respect and discipline were physically taught when I just did not get it via verbal teaching. You name it, it was swatted across my backside and backs of my legs. I do not consider myself in a category of a child of physical abuse. It made me who I am today. I can exercise self discipline, and I still show respect to any elder I meet in my day to day life. When you see an older person's eyes light up when you say "Hello, sir/ma'am", is amazing. Many will just stop and talk for spell in the middle of the grocery store. I raised my son this way also, and he, while being *extremely* introverted, will, all on his own, ask an older person struggling to reach something on a top shelf in a store, if they need help, and if he can get it for them. To see a person's face light up when this young (20's) man helps them, and is respectful to them, melts my Momma heart. I made mistakes raising this young man, but I stressed respect, and held strong to discipline, and now all grown up I can look at him and know he turned out right, and I can stop worrying about that part of his life. 😊

At this point, there are 44 people who gave this a thumbs down. I can only imagine that most of these dear ones might have been abused while young. Abuse is not discipline, it is abuse. I'm sorry if this is your experience. Discipline is intended for the good, for correction and training. I'd encourage all to get God's intent on true discipline...and support it. Thanks Mr Phil for sharing truth!

I have been blessed to grow up in a Christian home and see what awful things that others are doing. It comes down to lack of Biblical knowledge and selfishness and it is rotting America, my generation, and future generations. We must lead by example and continue to pray.

And they taught me and my siblings to obey them. Meaning, get up in the morning, do your chores, to do your part for the family. I am such a better person because of the expectations my parents instilled and expected of me.
