Surely student debt is just that? Debt incurred by students for whatever reason. Why should I, the taxpayer, repay it? Course fees are a different story and should either be free for students or not free. I paid for some of mine and my employer paid fees on different occasions. None if it was free. As for debt, I didn't incur any. I worked hard and paid my way as I went along. If it's student debt, then let students repay it. No-one else should be expected to.
And that is wrong?
Who pays for students drunken nights out on the town any guesses ?
