Labor Day Powwow 2017

Puyallup Indian Powwow 2017, the dancing competition was great, but it was such a hot day. I was amazed at how those young people had so much strength and energy. Hope you will join us at Chief Leschi High School for the 28th Annual Powwow.

I didn't show entire dances since they are long. It was hot that day in the 90's and the regalia they wore is heavy. These are true athletes to have the stamina to dance the way they do. Thank you for appreciating the beauty of the dancing.

I started attending powwows when my granddaughter took me to the first one a few years ago. Five of my grandchildren are native blood and several of my husband's nieces and nephews are as well. They keep me informed of the local celebrations. The Native American culture is very much alive and well in the Pacific Northwest. Glad you enjoyed it.

I agree, a lot of the regalia is passed down through the generations and is very beautiful.

Lol, this was an old video that I had always wanted to make some corrections to. In the original I misspoke and it had always bugged me, but the subject was too good to delete completely. Actually, two videos were put up today and this one caught me by surprise since I had planned to change the date and forgot. Hope you will take time to watch the other one "Bridges in Washington" as well. Guess I was having a senior moment. Thanks for watching.
