    I always find Latoya to be truthful because when pressed about things she clarifies things and when a journalist tries to 'help her story' with his own take she actually stops and corrects them. So she's not just peddling a lie.

    Agreed. So the manager took LaToya's story of pain and then exploited her to the tilt for money and abused her just as her father did. They never consummated the marriage until on the Howard Stern show a lawyer came on and said the marriage was invalid unless consummated. The husband only cared about one thing, her money.

    Wtf did she think Rebbie was supposed to do, when during the time these offenses likely happened, she was just a very young person herself. Even when she moved out, she got married very young, right out of high school & LaToya was HER PARENT'S CHILD, NOT HERS, SO IT ISN'T LIKE SHE COULD JUST COME THERE & SNATCH TOYA OUTA THEIR HOUSE. Also, perhaps she could've called some sort of authority, I know there was no DYFS back then, so I wonder where people called back then to report an abused or neglected child🤷🏾‍♀️.

  • @Catbooks

    @Catbooks

    Жыл бұрын

    She was just speaking emotionally because no one protected her, not even her own mother, and she desperately needed someone. Rationally, you're right, there was nothing Rebbie could have done. She didn't even know Latoya had been sexually abused by their own father until later. If your own mother won't help you, it would be terrifying to go to any authority. There's a lot of shame involved too. Most survivors don't want anyone to know because of the shame.

    She's lying, how would Gordon have known all these private, intimate, family secrets? All these things SHE reported, how could any1 be afraid of Gordon who was an older, pip-squeak of a man, who was just 5'2" & was fighting cancer. Plus, she mixed too much verifiable truth in w/lies for it to have all been Gordon, so of course she was in on it too. LaToya wanted the BIG fame Mike & Janet had for herself & by 30, she was tired of being the good little church mouse living up under Katherine & Joe's thumbs, so she fell for his plan & sold her family up under the river.
