Thanks for this! Lots of good nuggets in here, even for those of us doing the “beginner” course 🙏

very solid route, glad to see you avoid dark canyon and equally impressed to see you add grizzly flat trail. Best of luck, see you out there

I'll confirm whether grizzly flat stays in tomorrow. A few people have asked me about dark canyon and should have mentioned in the video that's a no go.

I’m running a ridiculous 32 front and 11-46 😂. That clears just about anything 🎉

@@GravelBikeCalifornia IMO, you're taking the right route to and from CP#1. Those roads and trails are my backyard. Avoiding Ken Burton is the right choice on a gravel bike - probably for a MTB, too. The climb up to ACH from Gould Mesa Campground is a bit steep, but will save time and miles over other options. I did the climb up Grizzly Flats Rd from ACH recently. It's in pretty good shape. I'm curious about the Grizzly Flats Trail down to Lower Big T. I wasn't aware of that one until now.

sounds like a 30/46 crankset with a 10-38 cassette out back is needed.

Thanks for the video!!! The ride with GPS route does not correspond to the one shared in the video, any reasons for the change? :)

I mentioned it may change and we talked it over the next day. We actually cut off four miles doing La Tuna first, but added eight to go around Gold Creek knocking off more climbing and dirt.
