I highly recommend you pause and give the interviewee a few seconds to articulate a response after you ask a question. Your interview feels too rushed and you jump to the next question way too quick to really let the audience here what the interviewee is think or what he/she has to say. Just a suggestion.

I've never understood the difference between a mal and DS, it's just the recessive gene of the brindle color. When you breed a mal and DS you get one or the other, but are they mixed breeds? No, are they different now? The difference between a mal and DS is the same as the difference between a mal and another mal or vice versa, it's the bloodline. These dogs all.derived from the Belgian sheepdog many years ago and when Europeans bred for size and other attributes for security work bred with pitbulls and other breeds where the mal got its recessive gene of brindle. So can two mals bred produce a DS? Or two DS produce a mal? Mals no, DS, absolutely! Not high percentages, but has happened before, I've had it happen twice. The bloodline/genetics is PARAMOUNT! Not necessarily the breed.

For most lines the differences are negligible. KNPV lines are often mixed so much they have no discernible difference. Some FCI lines do have some different traits, but more like nuanced preferences for a handler rather than major characteristics.

Yes they all descended from the same dog even the German Shepherd. However, when the kennel club's came around, they started distinguishing the breeds. Remember, the Dutch Shepherd was once about to go extinct and to bring it back they used Mals and a splash of German Shepherd. That is why there is a lot of mixture. There could be the factor of the darker colors being associated with more dominant steady genes. I know this with German Shepherds, solid black Shepherds tend to be more dominant. So Mala and Dutchies were crossed Once Upon A Time To Save the breed and now they are crossed still because there are low numbers of Dutchies. Like the other commenter said, there is little variation in some lines, but in others there is much more variation and I have heard this time and time again that DS tend to be a little less hyper and little more steady. Someone once told me that back when they were used as Shepherd dogs, they put more focus on these qualities than the Malinois

@11:00 Who judges who is doing a good job and who isn't? If society produces a lot of dysfunctional people unable to follow simple rules and we have to rely on a bunch thugs with guns and dogs to try and keep order can we really say anybody is doing a good job?
