This game is a freaking legend in my eyes.

My only big memories from La Pucelle on ps2 other than the opening music was when I power leveled Prier AND Croix pretty much right before the story took Croix away.

This it was my first tactics game on my ps2 and since then i love to play every tactics jrpgs games . I hope NIS release a new tittle of La pucelle cuz Prier is such a great character.

I’m VERY glad you mentioned the changing enemy facing because I felt like I was dealing with some fever dream that you were able to use some sort of glitch to change enemy facing. So now that I know that was actually a thing and that in this version you can’t do that, I feel better that I wasn’t hallucinating. 😂😅😂😅

We need more funny rpg games like this.

Everyone go buy this, and then annoy NIS into localizing the remaining Marl Games.

@@MarxasThomas I mean localized, we still missing a game. There was ANOTHER PSP Marl game outside of Ragnarok.

I still can't decide if I want to get this on PC or Switch, and I've been waiting for the remaster since the first NIS classics were announced, lol. Have more of my backlog to work on in the meanwhile while I decide, but I just wish NIS let use buy the games separately on Switch like they do on Steam.

I really enjoy the pixel art in these old school rpgs, in fact, they still look much better than the new disgaea games, I wish they just improved it instead of changing the style completely.

it needs an L & R switch between allies and monsters. come on!

This is very helpful! I actually don't mind how fast things can be, so the extra dialogue is no issue for me! But I am nervous though because tactics games like these can be difficult to wrap my head around. Any tips for a new player like me?

There is one thing unique to La Pucelle and that's item fusion. It lets you make the most powerful weapons in the game. However it's unnecessary (mostly) to grind this aspect of the game to complete the main story. You will need to do this for the side content like the super-boss baal. Like with most NIS games, having one strong (or a handful) character will always help more than creating hundreds. I would recommend just playing the game and if you get stuck, you can come back and watch some of my other videos. I have a tips video and a video that goes into detail on fusions. I also have a mechanics video if you want to learn the basics of the game.

Can someone comment how much of the changes/additions mentioned come from PSP version? Cuz i dont expect special effort for this port considering others like Soul Nomad and Makai Kingdom are barebones and comparable to results of emulating the games

this port is the absolut best way to play the game, a shame you this is not the case with every port these days. BTW la pucelle is the best out NIS classics.

I played the original Disgaea 1st, then this. While I enjoyed it I could never figure out how to get the end game content. Then when I got Disgaea 5 and got Prier as dlc and she was a demon lord I was thinking how much did I miss and what happened between during the end game.

In the newest trailer made by nis America it is showed a new skill made for overlord Prier. It is called "Demon Frenzy". Do you know if they implanted any more new skills for the other characters?

Has it been fixed to be able to get past chapter 9? I had heard of that game breaking bug but I just ordered the physical copy for Switch. Hoping it’s been fixed by now?

Does this one can go upto lvl 9999? Like disgaea series?

im new to the game but i feel that im soo weak xD and after watching ur video about weapon fusion i now see why ... i guess my stats suck now and im kinda sad now that i learned that. Im liking the game and im on the final chapter but now i see lots of strong enemies over 30 and im on 26 with low stats i only managed to pass the game so far i thing due to the purifying of the dark energy that gave me another turn so i ended stuff in 1 to 3 turns tops , also i tried grinding but the exp was so slow and i have a hard time making money xD if u got any tips id appreciate ;D thanks for the vid .

I find that going into the Dark World (DEI > 100) gives a good amount of money but that'll come later. An easy way to make money is by going to Rosenqueen and doing surveys until she asks you what kind of buff you want, 3x Money is one of the options. The other good option is 3x Purification EXP. Either way, you'll want to head to Hall of the Dead to perform Mass Miracle Chains using as much of the map as possible. This will level up your gear as well as give you some okay money. Doing this a few times should give you the money to buy better gear to level. Fusion will be the best way to make your gear stronger. I would use the first map (Devil's Stomach) make a miracle covering the map (just a square on the outer part is fine, no need to snake the streams). This will give you enough levels on the gear to transfer to your main weapon. For experience, I just killed my own allies since it was quick and easy to set up with AOE attacks (Priere has Holy Wind or Batter up). So I just killed and went to world map, and repeat. Doing these points a few times should get you through the game and possibly the lowest level Dark World as well.

Are there any changes to Rhapsody in the collection?

it changes the way the directional input moves the cursor. For example: Type A - up moves it north Type B - up moves it to east.

I imagine there's gonna be a level grinding guide in a future video

Unsure but probably not? Right now I'm unable to progress past chapter 9 due to an unavoidable crash in the main story on the Switch. I don't know if they'll fix this anytime soon but worst case scenario, the patch would come later when people would stop playing. I would assume Cave of Ordeal would probably be the best spot to level (both miracles and characters) but unable to see if that's actually the case. On the PS2, I only did early game power leveling with a mix of killing allies and powerful enemies in the Dark World. This also helped me recruit Haniwas which gave me stronger kill fodder.

You cant delete save data like in disgaea

I don't consider myself as tactics fan, I played a few n I play Disgaea, but more for the games themselves then the genre at all, it's not that I have tactics, I just don't get the mechanics at all besides back stab, I'm pretty trash in any tactic game but I'm still willing to play any that appeals to me

IT'S ON STEAM?! Hell yes! I have a question involving SPOILERS though. Does it still have the point of no return in regards to certain characters later in the game? That was always a bummer, especially with no new game+.

Yes, Chapter 7-10 you go to a separate island and lose access to the mainland POIs. They'll become accessible again in chapter 11 though. You still lose characters.

@@JRPGFanatic Oh damn, thanks for the fast reply! Do they become accessible at the end of Ch. 11? I'm talking specifically about... Croix and Allouette not being available for the final chapter. I'm wondering at what point will I have my full team to grind and do dark world stuff in. Would it be in the final chapter or would it have to be sometime in NG+ when the entire squad of main characters is assembled?

@@ShaggyLad Aloutte leaves temporarily as does Priere but they both come back. Croix leaves in Chapter 10 I believe and Homard sometime in 12, and both gone for the rest of the game.

So no english VA?
