The ironic thing is they are playing next to YSU. Half of the band members have their music degree from YSU Dana school of music. Hands down one the best jazz music schools in the country.

Absolutely untrue. No one in The Commodores has a degree from YSU. Not ever.

because some have a yellow border and others red ??? are they all from the navy military or are there civilians in the big band ???

They are all in the same US Navy Band. The stripes indicate years of service, red for under 12 yrs. and gold for 12 and over yrs.of good conduct. Each stripe is for 4 yrs. completed. The insignia changes at 12 years also. The link between the chevrons indicates the advancement to Chief Musician.

You guys are still my favorite band. I love the chart. Is it an original by one of you?
