Now I understand that the African spirit of communication is specific within Africa cause anytime I hear this song from Africans I feel in within my soul but hearing it from different people with sweet voices but different roots feels different and it’s just feels like every other song. It’s Swan, here’s why: #1. We can rule out Rodriguez because her taller and more powerful build would result in a more powerful sound. The sound we are hearing is more of a delicate approach. #2. We can rule out Crossland because on the second “All aboard brave souls” she sings through her teeth, which slows down the airflow through her nose causing a spongebob type sound. #3. We can get rid of Revell because her acting is awful. Her mouth doesn’t open enough to get that vibrato in some of the notes. #4. Broadbent has the same issue as Revell, bad acting. #5. Dobyns was probably the best actor here, I originally thought it was her but I watched it a couple times and changed my mind. She looks way too happy to actually be the one singing. For those that don’t practice music, when you are singing/playing you don’t have time to be happy because you are too focused on getting it right. There is nothing more sad than getting wrong, especially in front of people. #6. Swan also closes her eyes at that part in which she changes notes rapidly. This is a common occurrence in singers because by closing their eyes, they stop sensory stimulation from one of their five senses. This helps to reduce sensory overload while they are singing, and helping them focus. Also, the eyebrow movement is something to note.

I like Baritone more than Euphonium, I’m a French Horn player at heart, but I bought a 4 valve compensating British Style Baritone Horn and I just love the sound. Euphonium is almost too gentle to me, I find Baritone more versatile.

Why am I reminded of the Gaither homecoming by this performance? Can’t decide who I like better. The Navy Band and Chorus or the Gaither Vocal Band/Chorus. It’s a toss up between a military music ensemble and a civilian gospel music ensemble. Both are phenomenally talented!
