Liked the video, even if long. In a way, the length gave a good idea of BH operation and what it can/can't do. It was good to have the drive by and walk around portions too. I've watched the video a few times now.

Maybe you have learned how by now but if not a tip on digging stumps. Try to get the bucket under the root you are trying to break and at the same time crowded the stick and curl the bucket and tap up on the boom. This gives maximum force. The bucket breakout is usually the strongest part of a backhoe.

I'm looking into buying a new L3901 and after watching this video and seeing all the "wished I woulda got the backhoe" comments, I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and get one installed on it.

for sure a BH is worth installing and cheaper to get before delivery than after the deal is done. other attachments are cheap compared to the bh so finance the bh in there and a brush hog or finish mower if you need one. road blades and box blades are cheaper and easier to pick up as you go along. originally I bought a johndeere gear tractor with brush hog and fel only but returned it and went down the road and got an Kubota with a fel, backhoe, and brush hog as well as a trailer. so much happier with my Kubota and that backhoe is the icing on the cake!

I have a l3400 and sure wishI would have got the backhoe at the same time. I see now what all I could be doing with it. does the backhoe attach. come with a subframe?

Did you get a sub-frame or 3pt for your backhoe?

Seriously considering an L3200/BH77 combo myself. How is the backhoe at operating boom, dipper-stick, and bucket curl all at once? Notice you have the bracket for the thumb, but you didn't get it; why is that? Did you get the rear tires loaded with ballast? Did the $26k include the cost of the trailer? Are you still happy with the purchase? Thanks!

myself I was dead set against hst was a gear head thinker. now I have a hst and I love it! you loose a little hp because of the hst but so far its been a nonissue. know your tractors limits and use its power to get the job done. I've seen cat d9 dozers stall out under load. so obviously you can over work anything. get the bh if you can swing it. its worth the money!
