That 7/11 answer really hits home hard if you've ever lived in Japan. The combinis in Japan are truly convenience stores unlike the inconvenience stores in North America where you're more likely to catch some attitude by the employees and get into a fight or mugged on the way out by the trash hanging around.

The Igbos of Nigeria and the Japanese have a lot of words in common but their meanings are not the same and funny enough these Igbos also unconsciously interchangeably use L and R. For example, instead of saying "love", they say "rove" and instead of "run", they say "lun". And yes, election is sometimes, embarrassingly, pronounced "erection".

On the internet in 2024, it's 10x safer to type the word erection than the word election. So if you developed the instinct to err on the side of saying election instead of erection, now you need to do the opposite.
