Belle et profonde interprétation de l'Orfeo. Les effets de "monte-charge" et de "photo de mariage" gâtent un peu la sauce, mais tant pis. La musique, si sublime. Grand, grand merci !

I loved monteverdi since a long time and I´m just starting to get into opera. This is my second favourite version of lórfeo. I like some of the voices more and some of the music. Great!🤩

Alarcón è una certezza, non solo nella direzione, ma anche nella capacità di scelta degli interpreti. Bravo! Se rinascessi un dí vorrei rinascere Alarcón ;)

Fevereiro de 1607; o Orfeo inicia com uma sinfonia sobre a fanfarra dos Gonzaga de Mântua;; o público fica impactado com a nova prática musical. Nasce aqui a ópera barroca, e em três décadas são inauguradas muitas casas imponentes para os dramas musicados. O iniciante barroco já se impõe pleno com a ópera, que é teatro cantado, falado, interpretado sob cenários magníficos e muita música instumental para as cenas.

Monteverdi hatte gute Musiker, auch Virtuosen zur Verfügung, aber so eine geballte Ladung wie hier! Absolut super, und mit Verve und Freude gespielt und gesungen (wie schön freudesprühend besonders der junge Schäfer... aber alle sind gut!). der Sound super durchhörbar "renaissancehaft" mit klasse Lauten-, Gamben- und Harfen "klingeln".. und die Tanzrhythmen herrlich energetisch! 👍

BRAVO a tutti, ottima prestazione. Per me, il ciclo operistico di Nikolaus Harnoncourt (Zurigo) è stato il punto di riferimento per l'interpretazione monteverdiana. Leonardo Alarcón e tutti gli interpreti hanno così aperto un nuovo capitolo nell'interpretazione delle opere! Saluti da Salisburgo !

What is the song sung by Eurydike starting from approx. 1:29:08? I don't find it in the libretto, and it is so beautiful. Is it another Monteverdi aria, and where can I find the sheet music? Thanks very much in advance for your reply!

I can just about hear Monteverdi in this over the top realisation of Orfeo and the micro management conducting is frankly irritating. It’s a shame because the level of musicianship is unbelievably high as is the quality of the singers but I can’t listen to this. It could have been brilliant if Monteverdi’s music had been allowed to flourish but it’s drowned out by the intrusion of the arrangement.

In arte non esiste metro oggettivo, l'oggetto d' arte deve per sentieri arcani piacere. Io ho un metro d' analisi personalissimo che a volte cozza col mio stesso gusto: l' opera d' arte è ben fatta? Questa di certo lo è e io me la sono goduta tutta e ringrazio per averla postata.
