ดอกไม้ชนิดนี้ในอดีตไม่ค่อยนิยมปลูกไว้ในบ้าน ส่วนมากจะปลูกไว้ตามวัดค่ะ ชื่อเดิมคือดอก ลั่นทม แต่ยุคสมัยใหม่นิยมปลูกเป็นไม้ประดับและเปลี่บนชื่อให้ดูคลาสสิคเพื่อการค้าชื่อว่าลีลาวดีค่ะ และประเทศลาวยังใช้เป็นดอกไม้ประจำชาติลาวชื่อว่าดอกจำปาเมืองลาวค่ะ

Leelawadee, also known as Lantom. Its English name is Frangipani. It is the national flower of Laos. The original name that Thai people call it is Lantom. Some people believe that it should not be planted inside the house because it is inauspicious. Because Lantom is pronounced similar to the word Latom in Thai. Which means sorrow or pain from suffering. Therefore a new name was called Leelawadee, which means abandoning sorrow. Leelawadee is sometimes used as the real name of Thai people. But if divided according to the word Leela means posture, beautiful posture. Wadee means fence, wall or may mean female gender. Therefore, frangipani, if translated according to its literal meaning, It is a flower tree with a beautiful, delicate posture. Her Majesty the Queen in the reign of King Rama IX graciously changed the name from Lantom to Leelawadee.😊

Yes i can understand it. Turkish songs translations dont give the full meaning too. Its natural because every language has its own unique culture included. Other languages dont carry those meanings 😊👍
