Cheapest part of a classic jet is buying it! Now operating and maintaining it that's whole other thing, with costs aside I hope he enjoys it as it is a pretty cool thing to have and fly. Oh and good video Mark!

@@markthibault8579 Well I don't know the exact numbers for the L29, but it has a engine that is the designed on same basis as the Rolls Royce Nene 10 which is in the Canadian T-bird, I can tell you those numbers, at idle you are looking at the following; Idle: 85 USG an hour Max Continuous: 660 USG an hour Take-off power: 840 USG and hour So you could say they are a bit thirsty!

It is not just the fuel, it is the maintenance. Exotic materials and precision that makes a fuel injector seem quaint - and since you're paying a premium for the parts, have you seen the rate for labor?

That was some killer flight footage. Specially over the lake. When he came off of the lake and over the mountain that looked like the dead cow area on the right where the highest Sierra fly in is held every year in October.

I enjoyed very much the cockpit POV in this presentation. Nicely done..and I must ask you Mark, are you going to get to go up in the Delphin? With a chase plane perhaps, even for a couple of minutes, or 10, of inflight video? That, would be epic.. just a thot. 😁

No, It just starts with the push of a button. It does need $40 of Nitrogen every time it flies though.
