I think Hua Chenyu and Jessie J were impressed. There is a short video of KZ meeting Jessie J earlier in the day where she talks about almost giving up singing as a teen because of vocal chord polyps which limited her range. Also on this show her "Say Something" and "Royals" are good. For something jazzier (not on this show) - her duet with Jaya on "Feeling Good". Another outstanding performance on Singer 2018 is the Mongolian singer Tengri's "Heaven" ( a lot of dynamic control) . If you Google the song "Heaven" under the name Tengger, there is a version with Eng. subs. Then there was Dimash's guest performance of Lionel Richie's "Hello", which he transforms in his own way. After meeting Tengri on that occasion, Dimash did the duet "Swan Goose" with him.

She did her job and managed to throw you off with your disdain for the autotune and you judged the book by its cover and then boom!.....she got you.

KZ does another version on Wish bus with her guitarist too. It is also unique in artistry and originality. She mixes styles fluidly whether on the Singer shows or on the Wish bus. At least give a listen if not a reaction. I also think that her use of auto tune shows her unique mastery over that element revealing the personal brewing attitude behind her interpretation- you said bewitching-Yes! She starts off singing her deep “unspoken” irritation of her relationship that then explodes after auto tune is my take on her performance😁.

That's the idea, she needs to surprise the audience at the start. Because of that she got the highest vote in that episode. I remember the comment of one of the contestant that "all challenger should be as good as her".

this is a clear case of "I speaked too soon" kind of thing, from the very start you are already judged her base on the beginning of that song" you entirely missed the idea of KZ singing that song she is entirely NOT trying to be Adele 🙄🙄 I guess you are not ready for her and clearly you don't know who and what KZ can do just because of that distortion thing 🙄🙄 well anyway nice reaction, I suggest next time you finish the video first before you react

C'est le concours chinois singer 2018 ou normalement l'auto-tune n'est pas autorisé. KZ a beaucoup insisté en disant que c'était pour des raisons artistiques . C'est un cover assez original et très personnel .😊

Neste The Singer 2018 na China, as apresentações de Jessie J são maravilhosas. Jessei é tão pouco valorizada... ela tem muita técnica, é natural e tem uma presença de palco incrível.

Her use of autotune is masterful. The "chaotic" autotune with vibrato is an emulation of an instrumental trill using the strongly autotuned voice. This is something I have never heard anyone do. Her use of downward scale tones later makes me think that the end of the autotuned section is not intended to be a slide.

New subscriber here as I find your reactions so genuine. Try to react as well to her version cover of Carpenter's 'Close to you' . Her vocal instrument here is superbly good! Thanks and more power to you!

Non sei l'unico a storcere il naso per l'auto tune😅. Secondo me e una sua scelta stilistica all'inizio per poi travolgere le persone dopo averla ascoltata 😁. Dovresti ascoltare e commentare altri pezzi in quei concorsi perché e veramente brava e l'unica che interpreta le canzone a modo suo. Comunque il Rap e in TAGALOG ( lingua Filippina) Cerca anche su Singer 2018 "Say Something" " See you again" e "Royals" sono alcuni brani cantato da lei nel programma.

Je reconnais que KZ a fait de très bonnes prestations dans ce show mais ce n'est pas la seule a interpréter a sa manière . (exemple Hua Chenyu) . L a concurrence était rude .

Indeed, I loved her arrangement, very original and I said that in the video! I only didn't like the choice to use autotune in the beginning, but it's just my personal opinion :)

she however won this round over Jessie J and the rest. despite your misgivings about her using the autotune.

Good for her, I think she has an amazing talent and the victory is deserved! The thoughts about the autotune were just my personal opinion :)

On top of that amazing performance, KZ actually "arranged" that song (just as she does all her songs)! Nice reaction....Please react to her cover of "Royals" on the same Singer 2018 next. Guaranteed to blow your mind again:} BTW: KZ won first place that week, beating Jessie J (who took 2nd place) and Hua Chenyu (3rd).
