It's weird how Jonghyun's version and Kyuhyun's version hit so different but make us all bawl our eyes out nonetheless.

Kyu purposely didn't even sing some parts of this song that i think maybe the lyrics hit him hard.. the part he didn't sing: I don't want to live What should I do, what should I do without you? I think there's been quite a few people who can keep the emotional well in tact while performing this song. But I think it hits Kyuhyun a bit harder because he was close with him & he was deeply effected from the incident so he can convey it really well.

His technique is literally perfect. It's amazing how he can still convey such emotions with impeccable technique. Very few singers who sit on the top could do this as most usually go one way or another. I watched the episode and I really think that the reason he lost was because the judges wanted to know his identity 😂

kemalasari dina i think they knew for sure who it was. Kyuhyun is a very well known ballad singer. Kim Gura heard him sing regularly for 6 years due to Radio Star and , a guest judge said right off the bat that Genia was an idol with a long career, once a member of OMG slipped and called Genie “sunbae”. I suspect he was the one who asked to be pulled out, SJ’s comeback was just around the corner and he also had many individual schedules: salty tour, love at first song, his youtube channel, various solo appearances in concerts...

I felt for a moment listening to Jonghyun... That was so emotional, kyu made it beautiful.

You can actually hear his voice shaking. He’s really emotional with this perf. It’s amazing he chose this song and believed he could pull through without sobbing in between.

Las personas deberían ser más cuidadosas antes de comentar aquí. NO se trata de una competencia entre Jonghyun y Kyuhyun sobre quién cantó mejor la canción. Ellos dos eran muy buenos amigos, y Kyuhyun interpretó su canción como una forma de rendirle homenaje, incluso él lloró mientras lo recordaba después de terminar su interpretación y quitarse la máscara. AMBOS son excelentes artistas y sus interpretaciones son preciosas. Qué grosera la gente que insiste en demeritar a Kyuhyun, cuando básicamente no hay nada malo qué decir de su presentación.

It is singing a soul that desperately screams how much it longs for and misses its loved one...

this performance just goes to show how much kyu has listened to this song. you can tell that he’s gone over it so many times by all the pauses and slight breaths he makes. you can tell he’s gone over it so many times just by the fact that he (at certain parts) sounds *just* like jonghyun did in his own version. you can tell he put his all into this. he wanted to make jonghyun proud and i’m positive he succeeded. this song obviously means something to him, and he recreated it so well. he absolutely mastered this.

His voice is him screaming out to Jonghyun 😭😭😭 man there was no way I couldn't get through that without crying 🥺

Found this vid late but I feel the same way.

The absolute silence he left the crowd in, as if they couldn't even recover their breaths to applaud... i felt that.

Almost two years have passed since Jonghun's death, but his departure is still very painful and his close friends have not forgotten yet what is this fulfillment?!!! 😔

A very good interpretation. It's not even surprising since it's Kyuhyun. Powerful voice. As for the emotions, it would have been more impactful if you saw his face expressions too. But that's the show and still, the message was there.

i'm tearing up again after watching this video. Been years since Jonghyun passed, but his soul and music still lives on today. I definitely know that Kyuhyun and Jonghyun were especially close, so for him to sing this song in dedication was truly amazing. It's such a hard song to sing without crying. So for him to sing this without crying is honorable, and you can tell he was able to stop himself from crying since you can hear the shaking in his voice but didn't crack.

The way he starts the song... so gentle and soft, just like Jjong would and it gave me chills

this was the most heart touching, grieving, filled with emotions, performance! I had only watched Jonghyun's and Kihyun's, and both of them sounded similar and perfect according to their styles, but this ONE !!!!! Contains a whole lot of emotion, and the singing...ofcourse top-tier!
