I’ve been a shooter my whole life, just recently realized my guide hand opens up to the basket as well. I was about to try and fix it and then heard that Kyrie does it as well. No longer fixing anything 😂

It just generates more power into the shot, not really a flaw unless you really aren’t good at shooting with it

@@cechoreto876 Barely any power if anything. People who you use the thumb flick more-so for power than a feel type of thing usually get an incredibly amount of side spin. Curry and Kyrie both have a slight thumb flick but you still see their backspin is impeccable.

Golden State certainly has the better overall team, but nonetheless Kyrie surfs all over them Splash Brothers almost every time he faces them.

Thanks this really helped with my Jumpshot I was struggling with it but I couldn’t copy Stephen curry because imma be honest idk how he shoots the way he does this Jumpshot is way less complicated I am not saying that steph has a bad Jumpshot he is the best shooter of all time

steph uses step backs ,so during the isolation he just needs a one motion shot so a jumper won't be necessary :)

He doesn't have a thumb flick he tucks in his thumb so that the thumb can be pointing to the rim same as steph

But he doesn't. Follow through puts a much stronger force on the ball and therefore most of the rotation, but look closely, these shots are not perfectly north/south, they go a little bit south west (like 7 or 7:30 o'clock) because of the flick.
