KYOSHO OPTIMA MID 87 WC WORLDS SPEC PROTOTYPE BUILD AND RUN

In this episode I get my grubby mitts on another one of Kyosho's gems and recently released legendary line there sixty anniversary buggy the Optima Mid 87 worlds spec prototype four wheel drive ace buggy via Akira Kogawa spec.This is an all out racer and the best handling buggy I've built and driven on the channel and I've done a ton. Absolutely beautiful machine with carbon fiber everything. I install a sweet vintage spec motor and extra carbon bits, vented motor plate, stabilizer kit and digital steering servo. I install custom race wheels and give it the Lukes Vintage RC paint treatment that only Luke would attempt to create a beautiful and fun build from open box to run which yes its expensive and if you don't have a kyosho optima mid to run away from. I'd recommend to pass on it. Just save yourself the money and buy the regular one as it's amazingly good and easy to get a paint color to match with plenty of replacements available. But if you have the spare money that's like a lot it's worth the dough. The perfect four wheel drive buggy! One where its too nice and limited for its own good..verdict is: Unfortunate that Kyosho limited this version because I would have drove this one over all the buggies I own, its that great but now I just can't as its too special, I can only imagine that a millionare owning a Ferrari Enzo knowing its such a capable machine that well they just can't drive it this is the same scenario for us financial inept individuals I/e me in the rc realm. This is a special thing that deserves a special video, only video to capture the unbox, build, paint-decal, upgrades install, run via a top speed portion on KZread. That’s the Luke’s Vintage RC way. Yeah man your gonna absolutely love the finish product. I wasn’t sure about the color or body as I wasn’t a fan of its design, I love the regular optima mid version but honestly it’s just bizarre enough and the unique color does catch the eye. I can’t wait for your video on it. Thanks friend. ✌️

Awsome job with the paint 👌 i went non box art so was easy for me 😂 but its now evolved into a long wheel base chassis, and hopefully getting raced this weekend 🤞
I like brushed motors I just like the way they sound. They are smooth and remind me of childhood. Very cool build! I love the color!

Fitted mine with the optima belt 1 tooth less. A 10.5 motor and koswork esc mount. Very smooth car race it in vintage class.

Looks great and it ran very well! I would definitely try and keep it nice as long as I could. They are pretty pricey and not going to be around too long.

Hey LUKE!! Great build on this Tamiya! I just traded my Tamiya Lunch box with a Venom 13 Turn motor for a nitro, which means I'll prob look into building another tamiya kit. What do you recommend? on the cheap side, that is.

It might but remember that’s a 5 slot motor not a 3. The rpm is lower but it’s torque is higher made for crawling specifically.
