Can’t wait for the season. All these heated comments just fuel the fire. Anyone saying that Utah is overconfident has no idea how this program is run. This team has its eyes set on the CFP, but they aren’t taking any game for granted.

@michaelpeck1346 I'm a WVU fan, so I have no bias either way. Your comment in itself shows you haven't been paying attention to the other teams in the league. Gus is building a powerhouse. Their incoming recruiting class is in the top 25, they are one of the fastest growing institutions in the nation, and are located in the middle of FL, one of the best recruiting hubs in the nation. Everyone in the Big 12 needs to stop looking at UCF like they are still a G5 school.

Honestly he didn't say anything bad, and it's not like he's insinuating that they'll leave all of the Big 12 behind without any of the others schools moving up too. He's simply saying what most people see coming. It won't be a league with just two conferences though based on what we've seen with actual proposals and the conferences won't change much. It's going to be one major entitity just for football that will likely try to bring the regional feel back to the sport. There's simply no way that the Big Ten and SEC would want to govern 24-30 teams, it's difficult enough with their current numbers.

It's fine for UofU and Whittingham to prepare for a P2 quietly and behind the scenes, but why state that publicly? UofU should be a leader of the conference and should be helping the charge to build a P3. UofU has always been trying to tag along and siphon off the greatness of other schools in the league. Now that they are one of the leaders, they don't like having to carry dead weight like other leaders have to do. It's ME, ME ME!!! attitude. That's why they're so hated.

Nothing is for certain with regard to the conferences. There is so much more uncertainty and negative implications of recent changes. That is why Jim Harbaugh and Nick Saban left College Football last year. There is certainly a bubble in College Football TV Contracts. Schools left out of conferences will be able to offer their games same as MLB and NBA teams are able to offer their games individually on internet apps if facing lower TV income. So the TV Contract Income part of this atmosphere will change as it only longer exists in Football.

Utah thought that their association with bigger schools made them special. Then the Big Ten and SEC not only passed over the four corner schools, they didn't even give those schools a slight glance. After all of the talk about the Big 12 being a truck stop conference, I'm wondering when the four corner fanbases are going to figure out that they were the truck stop states of the Pac-12. Utah is right where they belong, and they're far down the pecking order to get poached by the top 2 leagues.

But teams like Vanderbilt, Rutgers, Illinois, and the rest of the dead weight will not be in the new league. The best teams from the SEC, B1G, ACC, and BXII will be splitting off to form something new. If any of the P5 continues on as football conferences it will be with leftovers and G5 backfill.

I don't think a 2 conference solution will be allowed without triggering anti-trust laws. There needs to be a minimum of 3. You are probably looking at 3 leagues of 24 teams. The Fox League, ESPN League, CBS League and what's left of the G5 becoming the G2 with 30-36 teams each, the Amazon League and Apple League.

So I’m not seeing how the sec and Big10 are getting to 40 let alone 48. Utah and Kansas are uniquely positioned moving forward but the rest are in a snookered situation. Stuck, no options. SEC goal is to maximize revenue by having huge football all day Saturday. UNC it’s 52k seat stadium and less than a million viewers per week don’t meet the SEC standard. KS, same. Utah, same and to far. So if the SEC takes FSU, they are not going for UNC. And I don’t see why the Big10 would want what the SEC is passing on. Clemson? Who knows. Basically, we all probably agree those 2 FSU and Clem could figure it out with someone. The rest of us, no. You’re in the Big12 now and they had the chance to take any of you and they passed.
