I like so far what Kyle has done the Hawks should be better this year still a few years away from making playoff noise but the games should look much better this year !!!

It's crazy that people are hating on 1-3 year long contacts. Have to get the youth to develop. The growth will be amazing for this squad

Many of the youth are already there. Plus they need time in the NHL to learn the game. I don’t care about TJ Brodie, Maroon, or Martinez. We do NOT need them.

Artyom Levshunov signed his entry level contract today.

A couple of these comments show some people complain just to complain. Hawks stepped up. Top six signings. Depth w heart grit and leadership. Martinez and Brodie smart moves. Levshunov a big righty shot teams crave. Nothing wrong w his tape at MS. Next yr let him stay there. Hawks need goals and just improved from 178 to projected 225.

Foligno absolutely needs to wear the “C” this season.

He should wear the c but he is a captain without it. When management thinks Conner is ready for that role the team will announce it. I don’t want a short term player to get the captaincy.

It would really be helpful if Rychal finds his game. We need some help on the 2nd line. Otherwise we will be forced to play bottom 6 guys there. Nazar hopefully takes a job later in the year and our top 6 looks much better. Staying healthy will help also

I think Reichel needs to prioritize his strength and conditioning this summer. He has a lot of skill but he gets out-muscled for the puck far too often. If he gets stronger, then I could see a lot more of his plays translating. I'm hopeful that Teuvo can give him some pointers this year as well. He's a smaller guy who came from overseas, he wasn't a full-time NHL player until his D+3 year. Teuvo filled out his frame a bit. His defensive game is underrated, he can show Reichel (and Bedard) how small players can be impactful defensively, and he's had a lot of team success throughout his career.

Looking forward to seeing Ollie someday. And Nazar. And Slaggart reminds me of Hagel. This is all going to take years. People need to see the long term. Stop being a hater. Glad we dropped alot of dead weight this summer.

I like the two Kyles. I think the coach will have to be tougher this year, but that will come. It's time to expect the million-dollar salaries to be worth it.

Key words ... we want to have players who will elevate their play and sustain it. Be tough on them, Kyle, but always fair. They need to have better stamina and drive, and they need to be a team, and not individuals. A team like Florida, not individuals like Edmonton.

All the arm chair GM's are clueless.. Kyle from Chicago is sticking to plan he set up before #98 arrived. He has not movex off the timeline he set up. If Bedard accelerated the timeline it's a bonus but I am ready for a fringe playoff team in 24/25, but not expecting more than that.

This is an overreaction to last year. The number of injuries were an anomaly.

I really like Kyle. I love the direction this team. I believe Bedard will become a superstar this year.

Christ. Hawks fans are the WORST about being patient with defense prospects. Brodie and Martinez signings are obvious placeholders and mentors for young defenseman. If the hawks are out of contention by the deadline they become trade chips. Developing defenseman takes a long time (Forsling). Everyone in chicago is so quick to toss aside a 22 year old when they aren’t NHL ready. In that same vein I’d rather Del Mastro, Kaiser, Phillips, Allen, ect get time in Rockford. Plugging young defenseman in the NHL for the sake of “developing at the top” is just dumb. Filling a top 6 defenseman roll with a prospect who isn’t ready for the sake of filling a roll kills development. Look at how the old regime pushed our first round picks the last however many years.

@sadcubs. You’re right there are hawks fans that are not patient with rebuilding. But they are not the worst, they’re passionate about the franchise.we love the Blackhawks even if we are impatient and want to compete and see the cup again. This is a rebuild, this isn’t fun for anyone but we are going to have to show some patience with the young players so when they’re ready, they can make an impact right away. We have to be positive that the outcome of this rebuild will pay off.

Give the C to Bedard. This year. He deserves it for what he has done and will do.

I haven’t liked Kyle from day 1 bc of how he’s slammed the door on Kane and Toews, but outside of that, i thought he made decent moves and his reasoning was usually sound. This is the first time I’ve questioned some of it and seen some wavering or trying to explain away questionable decisions. You shouldn’t be happy about where your forward group is at if you don’t get another top pick forward. Levshunov was a terrible pick, I’m sorry…I don’t hate the kid, I’m sure he’ll be a fine player…not #2 overall. I could see taking Demidov at 2 and trying to trade up to 4 for Levshunov? But you need a 1-2 punch scoring option that you drafted yourself, it’s how championship teams are traditionally built. Sure, there are floridas, and Vegas…but they don’t have a Connor Bedard. A guy like Bedard, like Kane, like Crosby…needs a Toews, a Malkin…Batman and Robin. McDavid and Draisaitl, Stamkos and Kucherov, Bergeron and Marchand…etc. Maybe we have that guy in the system already, I just don’t see it. You hope to never be at 2 again and the way you signed players, you won’t be…you CANT pass up a skill player like that 🤦‍♂️ I really hope I’m wrong

Well don’t hate the player, he’s a kid. He is going to have to develop. We can’t change the draft that is the past. We have to focus on the present and future. Give him time and patience.

Kyle is not proven he can build a championship team. Time will tell.

@@michaeldwyer977 no they don't. There are a number of teams that haven't won a cup ever. A number of teams in a long drought since their last cup win. Most GM's don't win championships and don't have championship teams.

Davidson is a yes man. I neither like nor trust him.

OMG! The Blackhawks can’t win with this guy! What a painfully boring press conference. Fire up! Show some passion. If Bedard is smart he will get off this team and it’s complacency.

I don’t like the defense free agents. Let the young players develop in the big leagues. I don’t care about Martinez or Brodie. Korchinski played well. He looked tired at the end of the season but so did Bedard. Kaiser and Korchinski should be in the NHL.

They have to earn a spot simple as that if they don’t think it’s a good think we got these other veterans. If they earn a spot then they have proven to be nhl ready it’s a win win.

Yet you didn’t follow Dallas’s developmental path with Korchinski. It sounds like you don’t want to follow that path with Levshunov either. Mark Eaton sounded like someone who doesn’t want him going back to Michigan State. That would be another mistake IMO.

Korchinski was not able to go to the AHL he was too young. The debate for Levshunov is Rockford or Michigan. Go Pro or go back to college.

I’m aware Korchinski wasn’t allowed to go to the AHL last season. My point is he should have been returned to Seattle of the WHL. He was overwhelmed in the NHL last season.

I agree that korchinski and levshunov have been exposed a multitude of times on the defensive end, but if they continue to develop them properly, they might turn out be be some great offensive defensive power

I just don’t understand how you draft defense and not even the best defensive defenseman?? Like yea draft defense but make sure you’re pick sures up your defense defensively… if your going to draft offense you should’ve drafted demidov because tbh if he was a hawk i could truly say i felt like the draft pool was perfect but now instead the offenseive prospect pool isn’t for certain awesome with bedard graduated and your defensive pool is still not a defensive certainty…
