I’ve got a pretty decent collection of Oasis stuff but these guys take it to the extreme, I draw the line at paying £10k for a guitar or having 20 of the same record in different colours. Each to their own though.

What a great collection. Thanks both for the fascinating tour. The “Standing on the Shoulders…” tape looks like a U-Matic master tape containing CD standard (16-bit / 44.1kHz) digital audio. It’s likely to feature Howie Weinberg’s mastering of the final stereo mix of the album, rather than stems. The CD mastering was done at Masterdisk in New York. There’s an outside chance the U-Matic might be a slightly different mastering than the final CD, if Howie W revised the master based on feedback from Noel etc. The archive company Great Bear would be a good call if you want to get the tape transferred to investigate further.

Quick update again. This is being converted as we speak. I couldn't resist checking it out. It'll likely be a waste of time and money but has to be checked off the list.

@@BittersweetHome Nice one, thanks very much for the update. Well worth checking this tape either way I think. Once you have the files it would be possible to make a comparison (a null test) between them and the released CD, to determine if it’s a different mastering. Sometimes a mastering is revised and goes through several iterations based on feedback from the artist.

Some really interesting bits there; I'd be a bit worried about having them on display in a bar though!

That’s a great collection- some amazing items there - my box box came from Radio one - Jonathan Rhys Hughes to be exact - I think it’s still supposed to be in the BBC archives tho …

I used to spend £28 on the inport singles. They were the pride n joy of my collection. Fade away warchikd version. Wow

As a mad Pink Floyd and Adidas collector I can really appreciate this amazing collection and the trading and friends you must have made acquiring it. Well done mate it's a killer collection. Nice Spezial top and Liam shoes. 😁👍

I wonder if that Dat with the extra songs on from BHN contains “Slow” sure I once read in a 90’s Q magazine interview Owen Morris say they recorded a song called “Slow” and he thought it was the best thing they’d ever done.

My face lit up when you said Seahorses DAT tapes. I’d die to be able to hear that 👌🏻

I used to have the STC dart board and darts. Gutted I had to sell them. Would be worth 10x now what I sold them for 😮

I have met Noel a couple of times, a weird thing since I am Spanish. Once I was at Barajas, Madrid airport reading the last Mojo magazine number that I had just bought at the airport itself. Oasis were on the cover... I am reading the article and I look up .. I see fucking Noel Gallagher with his missus. I couldn't believe it, I didn't react and I lost sight of him. I start wandering looking for him... And I see the gate for Ibiza... And thought he has to be there... And.. there he was seating. I sat next to him with the cover on my hand... And I say to him.. hey, I just saw you on the cover... And talked to him for some minutes recalling the other time I met him. I remember saying so you are going to spend some days at your house in Ibiza? And he looked at me like this guy is a freak. The other time I met him was at a festival in Mallorca. They played with soundtrack of our lives, libertines and the charlatans. I had a press pass thanks to a fanzine I used to write for. I managed to get into the press interview first row with Noel answering. My stupid question to him was, which song would wish to had written? there she goes or there is a light that never goes out... he chose the smiths...After the show he signed my oasis CD and an NME with Chris Martin on the cover which had a couple of lines written by me about oasis going back to form. He read that and said... Oh, you are the one who wrote this? He hugged me and kissed me. Then we had a lovely backstage time chatting with charlatans band members who told us to stay away from Pete Doherty who was asking us for some change... Crazy night!!!

What's that alternative Wonderwall cover with the girl colourised, and the background still in black and white. Gorgeous. I need that picture!

Hii could you do some vids dissecting lyrics from noels high flying birds albums. I love you take on his lyrics and it would be so good to hear you do this on his high flying birds records as the lyrics seem more literal that his oasis albums and less mysterious. But I think it makes it worse as I still have no idea what the songs are about but love the the songs
