Kyiv is definitely a great city in Ukraine, but you wouldn't really enjoy the beauty of Kyiv and Ukrainian culture if you don't go out to mingle with people of Kyiv. I've lived in Kyiv for more that 2 years and haven't really gone out just for the purpose of interacting with people of Kyiv.
Finally I and my friend decided to go out to ask people random questions on the streets of Kyiv and it turned out to be an amazing experience because we met so many amazing Ukrainian people and other nationalities who were very happy to be interviewed.
It's interesting you can live in a city for soo long and never really experience the city.
My advise for you is you just get out of your comfort zone and explore your city.
Time to explore Kyiv City, Ukraine.
