KXLY-4 Spokane signs off the air on August 31st, 1983. Starts with a preview of the new series 'Lottery!', followed by the sign-off announcement. The only difference between this and the 1982 sign-off is the new circle 4 logo slide. Post sign-off, there's several minutes of the Group W Cable bulletin board featuring beautiful music from KOOZ-106.3 in Great Falls MT (now KQDI 106.1). KXLY was carried via microwave to much of western and central MT, with a 9-midnight primetime schedule, throughout the 1980s.

That's awesome! So you grew up in Great Falls, I see. Wasn't it nice to have Spokane TV at your fingertips, hundreds of miles east of Spokane? Did you also get the Lethbridge station on cable too? (CFAC-7) - Taylor

The Spokane stations were great. Especially since GF only had two television stations until the mid-80s when they got a third. And I do remember that Lethbridge station on channel 13. I think they called it 2&7?
Never forgave ABC for cancelling LOTTERY! as it was worth watching back then. Anyway, that digital bulletin board reminds me of the early days of Cable TV.
