Kunkeshwar Temple is an impressive Hindu temple located in Kunkeshwar village, in the Taluka of Devgad in sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, India. The temple, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, is one of the most important Shiva temples in Maharashtra. This Kunkeshwar temple is also known as Kashi of Dakshin Kokan (Kashi of South Konkan). The Kunkeshwar Mandir in Devgad is also well-known for its beautiful stone carvings. We will also tell about the Kunkeshwar temple history which leaves us with a nostalgic impression in our memories forever.
Just next to the ancient Kunkeshwar Temple (Kunkeshwar Mandir) is the famous as well as stunning Kunkeshwar beach, on Arabian sea of Konkan coastal region. Kunkeshwar beach in Sindhudurg district, is known to be one of the most serene beaches with breathtaking panoramic views of the coastal region including the sea shore temple. The Sahyadri mountain range at one side and the Arabian sea at the other side makes Kunkeshwar is worth visiting place. Witnessing the beautiful sunset at Kunkeshwar sea beach is awesome.
Mithbav Beach is a secluded beach located in the village of Mithbav, somewhat 12 kms south of Kunkeshwar and in Mithbav village. On the way to Mithbav there is an ancient yet beautiful Mithbav Rameshwar Temple (Lord Shiva Temple). The Mithbav beach in Konkan is known for its natural beauty, with clear and calm waters. The beach continues to the next beach which is called Tambledeg beach.
Mithbav Gajbadevi Temple is a small, but beautiful, temple in the same area. The temple is quiet and serene. The views of the Mithbav beach and Tambledeg beach from the Gajbadevi mandir are just awesome. Sitting here for hours will leave you with a relaxing mood.
