Kumbak Kamping, Sth-East Qld - One of the Best Campgrounds Near Brisbane

Kumbak Kamping is one of our very favourite ‘go to’ campgrounds, not too far from Brisbane, so is perfect for a weekend getaway. It is so peaceful and relaxing here in a natural bushland setting. We just cannot talk this campground up enough! Try it out and see for yourself, you won’t regret it.
This family-friendly campground is located on Mary Valley Road, Brooloo, very close to Imbil and not too far from Kenilworth. It is accessible to RVs - caravans, camper trailers, motorhomes etc, and tent camping is permitted. Campers must be fully self-sufficient. There are 11 campsites in total and each campsite is very spacious and allows for group camping. There is a fire pit on each site and wood can be purchased at the campground. If preferred, you can take your own wood, but collection from the property is not allowed.
Each campsite here is very well maintained and grassy, and sites are separated with trees. You definitely are not camped on top of your neighbours here! Kids will love it here - they can ride their bikes around the loop track and have plenty of space for outdoor games at the campsite. A beautiful creek runs through the property and can be accessed from the campsites - nice shady place to cool down on a hot day.
You’ll find Kumbak Kamping on Facebook - / kumbakkamping and in WikiCamps Australia. Bookings via Messenger or phone. $15 per adult per night and children under 16 are free. A milk crate of firewood is $10. (Please note: these prices were correct at the time of video publishing - Friday 29 March 2024.)

Pity there isn't an amenities block... even just a few toilets for number 2s would be a great help. Great clip. Thanks heaps.

Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed. We are lucky enough to be self contained which is perfect when you find a top spot like this. We use a shower tent on the 4wd which easily accommodates our porta potty. Cheers, Lea and Joe

@@RoaminWithTheRubes It was quite exciting for me to find campers in my part of the world. I have a porta potty as well. Now, I'm really a very inexperienced camper so I'm happy to learn what I can from others like you guys. From what I read it seemed the advice was to not poo in them. Looks like that might not be true.

Yes, we use ours all the time on our travels, 1s and 2s. We purchase chemicals made for porta potties which you can get easily from Bunnings, Anaconda, BCF etc. there is no odour, we’ve never had a problem. Very easy to empty in a public dump point. Maybe google a little more info, or there may be a KZread vid about this. We’d be lost without our porta potty - having one enable access to so many more camping locations.
