You guys are so lucky, I am stuck in the city and don't get to explore the forest at all or a lot anymore. So I don't get to practice anymore but when I do I feel alive again.

I recommend just trying it! Most cows respond to it, they don't all come running, but it'll for sure make their day more interessting 🐮❤️🐮

Generally the caracter of kulning is about those high pitch tones which have the ability to travel especially far but there are no rules about how YOU should be doing it. Go ahead and play around....you might be surprised what your voice is capable of ♥

I guess for most men it's harder to reach those high pitch sounds but who cares... Go ahead and try what works for you! There is also "Jodeln" which is basically the German version of Kulning that was dominantly used by men...maybe that could be fun for you too 🐮🍃

Swede here. Yes there are men that can do it too. Belive it or not but men can reach that high pitch too with practice. However historically it was mostly women who did it because the men where out in the forest or on the fields.

It’s fine! Plus kulning is not about “sounding good” you don’t have to sound good to do kulning, it’s really about freeing your voice and if your using it to call animals then you don’t need to sound good , generally speaking as well^^

Yes, I totally agree on that Fraine! If you don't feel comfortable when you practice (and I totally understand that struggle) find ways to deal with your insecurities & free yourself. Being at a place with less humans around definitively helps 😉❤️

Haha you're absolutly right, I was trying really hard to make the explaination as short as possible because I knew most people rarly watch a whole minute...today I would create it slower because I don't need anyone to watch this if they are not actually interessted & capable of keeping up their attention 😄
