KUKU Rhythm - Beginner's African Drumming Tutorial
Музыка
Here is an African drumming tutorial for beginners and improvers, from Master Drummer Souleymane Compo. The tutorial includes a section on djembe technique, and then breaks down the popular Kuku rhythm from Guinea Conakry, teaching the call, introduction, and the first and second djembe parts. It also shows the dundun, sangban and kenkenny parts of Kuku rhythm.

Hi! Sorry we are based in the UK. Not sure how much a Guinean djembe would cost in Nigeria. We hope you can find one!
Excellent! Do you have Venmo?
You must be a very good student of Mamady Keita, the greatest djembefola who ever lived
Why is this Guinea version of Kuku so different from Multipecussin? His is totally differnt.

Hi Nahulanham. Kuku is a traditional rhythm from Guinea Conakry. We are not familiar with the 'Multipecussin' version of Kuku and it's origins.

8:21 right and left must be reversed in Africa?
@WuntanaraTV
2 ай бұрын
Hi Brian. Well done for paying close attention! :) Right and left are of course the same way around in the continent of Africa as they are in the rest of the world. It's just the camera which reversed the image. This means you can mirror Souleymane when you are practicing the rhythm.
And the woman in orange is still running.
