I have an Beyond Clothing Aptus Hoody, really a softshell and has 60g of polartec alpha insulation, but its so thin you can hardly tell. I use it in a similar way in temps from well below Zero to about 55F with various base and outer layers, its my favorite piece of armor for mother nature.

Great review! I hunt wyoming and I’m looking for a new jacket to wear in bow season, it can get cold in the mornings but hot in the afternoons. I’m stuck between the rubicon and the guide dcs, any advise? Do you know what the main differences between the two are?
Would you recommend this jacket on a muley hunt in New Mexico with the temps around low 40s & low 50s during the day? Thanks

Have you compared this Vs the peloton 240 hoody?

I haven't but I'm pretty familiar. The Peloton is more like a woven fabric. This is probably best compared to the Guide Jacket.
So, no issues with sparks or embers from a fire?

Not at the distances I was at... hard to say if I was closer but I've worn this around a few fires so far.
Does this jacket breath well?

Not from the standpoint that you feel the wind but it does seem to reasonably vent moisture... I don't sweat a ton in KUIU gear

I wear pretty much large jackets with Kuiu... This one is a large.

@@purerushoutdoors7624 I guess it depends how you want it to fit. Kuiu large is about perfect for me. I don't like overly loose.
