I’ve been impressed with the various reviews of this special edition Culpepper, so I bought one, too. Mine was equally sharp right out of the box. I really like it, as well as my recently purchased “Federalist”. The majority of new knives which I have purchased in the past year from just about all of the major cutlery manufacturers have been razor sharp right outta the box, EXCEPT for Case brand. Not only dull blades on the Case knives, but various other defects as well. Case had better be looking over their shoulder - Rough Ryder, Rosecraft, and of course good ol’ Buck, are nipping at their heels….

Any knife that shaves out of the box is a nice knife. I have a few NOS knives that I can shave with as they came from the factory, but not many.

I was surprised that it actually did it! But it did it so easily!! I bet there are not many current production knives that'll shave. Thanks for checking in.👍🏻

@@tedhart7708 It is sad when one of my old NOS I.K.co boys knife will remove hair, yet most new slip joints won't.

I have a Kershaw LEEK in Magnucut a d it's the same way.

I'm gonna have to start trying the shaving test with any new ones I get just to see how many pass muster.🙂👍🏻
