Kubota X1100C RTV With Tracks - Snow Trials -E147

Jason and Karen take the Kubota x1100c RTV out for some snow trials. The machine has tracks on it and they are trialing it in fresh snow on some steep slopes to check its' capabilities. They also do some snow grooming with the side by side to showcase the homemade drag they use to make forestry trails.

I have the same Camso TS1 tracks on our Kubota X1140, the one with the two rows of seats. These don't have a cab, but neither does a snowmobile. The tracks are a very significant reduction in speed but the huge flotation footprint has never gotten us stuck here in Central Ontario. The drawback to the big 1140 is its length on tight trails, but that is compensated by having room for the grandkids. Just discovered your channel. Love that algorithm.

@@OakMountainAcotts Yes, there is a reason these diesel Kubotas are extremely popular with people who actually need a work machine for farm or forestry. And the locking rear diff control has gotten me out of some sketchy situations on our property. I like your idea of a gas powered portable winch to mount on the rear receiver. You can't always pull yourself forwards. What model is it? Thanks.

@m.cooper1854 Curtis cab makes a cab for the Kubota x1140 and it still let’s you convert it into a 2 seater and have the bigger bed without taking any of the cab panels off.

I can't believe you had plans in case you get stucked with the tracks... It sure drags a lot of power using the tracks, 25hp being limited on speed then. But that hydrostatic transmission is the best for that application though. This groomer makes a nice job! I should include a pan on the back of mine. Thanks!

Salut Joe, yep, I have a pan on mine also and it seems to be a self loading unit. You start dragging and the pan loads up with snow and packs the trail even better. I always carry a shovel .... just in case and for clearing the pan when I'm done and want to store the drag by leaning it against a tree. Cheers

I am enjoying your videos. We are buying a 1100c to access our cabin in winter. Trying to decide on Tracks?? Are you having good luck with the Camso UTV 4S1. Also looking at the Mattracks, which are twice the cost. Do you have an opinion with you and your friends out in snow country? We are in California and not a whole lot of opinions out here.

  • @OakMountainAcotts

Hi Bob, my dealer advised they would only install camso on the x1100c. Apparently other brands do not stand up to the weight of the machine. Having said that Matt tracks look amazing but are very expensive as you say. I have no complaints with the camso tracks. Try an x1100c out before you buy it. They are very slow. Make sure you are okay with that. They are also a bit under powered with tracks on in high range. In low range, there seems to be no issue. They are a true workhorse though and I think they will last for years. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

you cant beat the tracks Jason like i said before we used them at Bear Lake park in Alberta checking for blow down trees and looking for picnic tables thought someone stole the tables but where just covered in snow i found them when i drove over top of them so we figured we were in 3 feet of snow for sure and had no problem but we did have a turbo on our machine made for more torque

@@OakMountainAcotts lol yup everything gets stuck but we use a winch that we can put on the front or the back so and a snatch block to double line if we have to the bad thing about it getting stuck is if you have to winch out backwards you have to dig out the receiver to mount the winch cause its usually that gets stuck not the front. Acouple of other things you should carry is a 4x4 block of wood a hydraulic jack and a 9/16 wrench in case you ever do throw a track. and it was great to see ranger the timber dog groomerdog and allround dog lol tc bud keep the videos coming enjoy them
