I have the little brother MX4700, non-turbo (no re-gen) shuttle shift version of this tractor I bought in 2012. It has been flawless in 700 hours. Good review.

I can't believe so few likes - This is a great user review. Stop being so stingy you viewers. Try making and posting a you tube video yourself. Anyway I benefited from your review - thank you 15 months of MX5200 ownership and 150 hrs of seat time later I'm a happy man. THe Kubota MX is a great working mans tractor. No fluff just all the stuff you need. I found mine garage kept with 150 hrs on it. Owner leaving state. I've used it with landplane for grading the road and weed abatement. Box scraper for grading. Flail and Brush hog mowing. Dragging. Discing. And raking rocks. The hydrostatic transmission is the bomb. So easily controlled. I did add seat suspension raising it 1 inch and extended rear controls to better fit my 6ft frame. I got filed tires and added Bro-tek 2 and 3 inch spacers, a Pats Quick hitch, better tool box and w few piddly mods to make it mine. Feels like a lifetime fit for our ranch.

Great video. I've got a 2020 MX5200 ( I used to have an L3200 and upgraded). I love this tractor!! Do yourself a favor and get a QuickHItch for the back. One of the best things I've ever done.

2019 MX5200. My first ever tractor. Turned 500 hours today. Just my own stuff around the property and helping friends out. Salesman steered me right.

I want one or a tractor and a small farm bad. I am almost 56 and work in a Paper mill. Make fair money for area but want something to do when and if I retire. I figured raising some cows and chickens and with the prices a big garden looks like my future. I like the Tractors as I know you do. Make a great small farm tractor

Our MX 5200 has been flawless for the last 5 years, you have yourself a great machine, congratulations and enjoy. Use a scifone hose to fill the tractor, they make great 1 way ball scifones that around $12 and the can stays on the loader arm, upright.

I appreciate your unbiased review of this tractor. I notice it's equipped with a LA1065 front-end loader. Some folks do not know what that number means. well, The max load you can grab, be it with a bucket, grapple, forks, or whatever the attachment is 1065 kilograms Or roughly 2348 US pounds. Over a ton of lifting power is quite impressive for a tractor this size. Something you might want to consider is a 3rd function kit to add a grapple, cutter, or whatever. yeah, It's kinda high priced at about a grand, but it opens up a whole new world. I work at a local dealership. My primary job is doing PDIs. (Pre-Delivery Inspections) I do tractors, mowers, skid steers, and my favorite, excavators. I've been doing this for about a year. I got bored with retirement and have always enjoyed working with my hands. Meeting a lot of nice people is a bonus. Thanks for sharing your views. Cheers from Louisiana.

to any old or new Mx5200 owners. I have a 2016 4x4 gear drive with 1000hrs on it. Only thing its had is normal service, 1 battery at the 5 year mark, new steering rod boots. I like and still enjoy the tractor. I made some early modifications to mine that took it to the next level. First thing is order the 'heavy duty bucket' option and leave that flimsy factory bucket at the dealer you wont be disappointed, then add a cutting edge under the bottom to protect your factory cutting edge second is order the factory option rear wheel weights and bolt kit its well worth it! we also filled the rear tires with water. third is we fabricated a 1/2 inch thick skid plate to protect the underchassis from sticks damaging it. fourth is NEVER cancel the regen unless absolutely necessary. the filter is rated to last about 3000hrs and finally the last AMAZING modification(after the warranty expired) we point the exhaust straight up and cut a hole in the hood so you can stop smelling the exhaust fumes. I HATED the factory exhaust while mowing high grass! yes its light but these are really good tractors all things considered.

I have the MX5200 and I opted for the liquid filled back tires which adds a lot of weight and stability, I would highly recommend that. Love my tractor, bought it about the same time you did I would guess and finally paid it off.

Another comment I would make about the tractor, the lack of a air-conditioned seating area booth. If I had a huge flat farm, I would have tried for one of those. I have a hilly forest, so when you are working with lots of trees a lot of times you have to squeeze through some branches, etc. I find that feature, or lack of that feature, important to navigate forest areas more efficiently.

No reason to disable the seat switch, just push the seat down with one hand and use the other hand to move the treadle peddle.

Make sure your foot pedal (forward/reverse) is in the middle position. It wont start if the pedal is rocked one way or the other. To get to battery, pull spring pin to lean front bumper forward, under the right side of the hood there is a metal handle to pull on that will pop the hood, battery is up front. You'll see it when the hood comes up

If the treadle peddle is in the middle. Then check to make sure you haven’t bumped the handle shifting from Low to Medium to High. I’ve bumped mine a couple times and it wouldn’t start.
