FYI It wasn't the exhaust fumes making me sick i was actually getting a flu but didn't know it yet. DON'T USE GLOWPLUGS WITH STARTING FLUID, i didn't realize it could cause predetonation but thankfully the switch was bad. I was wrong about the alternator i forgot this tractor has hydraulic injectors.

Breathing in the fumes from the starting fluid is VERY bad for you. Ask me how I know.

I wished I lived somewhere that I could use an old tractor like this
lever on the left of your shift is your pto shaft. the reason that it did not go fast is that it was in low range. lever by your left foot will change to high range
Really impressive ! That's one old tractor, good to see it can be of use now. it's gonna be exciting to see the bike run !!! you truly are a jack of all trades !

yeah they dont make l225 any more there replaced with the newer l series but the parts are still avaliable for all the older models on the market
That’s why I love kubota
Sounds good, I’ve always liked the sound of the 3 cylinder kubotas.

HAD A L245DT DAMN GOOD TRACTOR
Every diesel tractor will run without battery , no matter if the alternator works or not .
Diesels don't need a battery to run. No ignition. Battery only heats the glow plugs and engages the starter motor.
diesel engines do not need a battery to run -only to start
That's cool. You have earned your pay with that success. Why has all of that stuff been sitting so long? This job may be the best thing to happen to your channel.😀

Thanks! The tractor broke down right where it sat and no one was around to fix it, that whole area is a storage shed. And agreed. :)
steady the camera.
Motor (PERFECT)
Very nice
I have the same tractor it’s old like that one
nice job nat!

Thanks buddy! :D
I have that same battery charger... simply put: its entirely underwhelming. If you have a battery too low; itll think its a 6v battery. When its done charging, it wont float the battery, even if there is a load on it, once it shuts off, its done.
Dont be scared its only hydrolics jkjk love ur videos

That tractor should be late '70's to early '80's right? A little older and they were two cylinder. It is very similar to my B7100 from 1981. Except mine is 4wd. These are very much a bullet proof tractors requiring little but periodic maintenance. I don't know the hp rating but I'm thinking around 23 at the crank. When you find out, post the actual hp please. Great video man, great video.
Awesome...!
U da man
Why didn't you prep everything beforehand!!!.
that squeaking was the hydraulic pump no hydraulic fluid

That squeak is normal for the old kubotas when you are trying to inch the lift up. All of mine have done that since bought new in the 70s

It's the hydraulic pressure relief valve.
No hydraulic oil in. That qiuks
I've used a couple of Kubota machines both were very reliable and very used no drama what year is is your L250?

Anh không dùng nữa thì gửi về việt nam cho em dùng.
From India
starter fluid is very bad for diesel engines. try hot air from a blow torch in the air intake
Trying to see what you have rigged up there but from what I can see, the small yellow wire is way too small to bypass the ignition and jump the starter. Likely would have started without ether if you had a heavy gauge wire to bypass instead (another set of jumper cables).

I think what he was doing was powering the solonoid with the yellow jumper because the ignition switch itself is bad, not actually passing full starter current trough the wire. If that were the case, the wire would've glowed for a second or two then melted to oblivion within seconds. In addition to giving him some hot fingers.....lolol
Could be low on oil.
The squeaking is a lack of hydraulic fluid, and in the future... please don’t stand in between the wheels when you start a tractor. It’s bad news man
I felt sea sick watching your video
Never use starting fluid on a diesel. You'll blow a hole through the top of a piston. Use WD40. When it started I thought that was the end of that engine.

its fine if its a cold engine and you don't use the glow plugs
@kenarnold9132

If that's the case, why have most Diesel tractors since the '60s had a place to attach a can of starting fluid, with a button on the accsy panel? This would be JD, IHC, Case and the rest.

Most of those old diesel where low compression units. On the other hand most of the Kubota engines are high compression. A short cut to disaster when combined with starter fluid. It´s simply different designs but the difference should be taken into consideration before being obliged to pay a visit to your favorite mechanic, ;-)
it is not possible don't make fool
Dirt engine
Man merkt dass der keine Ahnung vom schalten hat
Fix the switch. Starting fluid will ruin a Diesel engine that is designed for glow plugs.
