Kubota BX removing the backhoe (12 steps)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Kubota BX removing the backhoe (12 steps) shows how to remove the backhoe and store it on blocks for the winter. This video covers all the essentials to get the backhoe removed and ready to store for the winter.
The video link at the end of this video shows how to protect the backhoe hydraulic levers (joysticks) from accidentally from being operated either by the protective tarp or by any little hands that might be curious. In preparation for removing the backhoe it is always a good idea to grease all points on the backhoe.
Also, after the backhoe is off the tractor you should grease the exposed areas of the cylinder rods (all the chrome stuff).
And don't forget to put the dust covers on the hydraulic connectors.
If you plan on installing a 3ph snowblower on the BX you will see another link at the end of this video showing how to do this.

Great video Bob! I've been experiencing some difficulty and frustration getting the backhoe attached to my BX25. Storing the way you've shown and believe your video will put an end to that.

Thanks. Yes it works quite well. Secret is to take your time and ideally have a helper or observer with you in case something goes awry. Keep the engine rpm low.

@@BobKelland Wanted to thank you again Bob. Finally had time to re-attach my backhoe after storing it using your suggestions and it took me 10 minutes compared with 2-3 hours and lots of sweat and cursing last time. Great to know I can now get it on and off quickly as I have a mid mower deck on my BX25 and prefer to have it and the FEL off when mowing. Thanks again for taking the time to make this video!

Do you need to prep the backhoe in any way, such as seal off the hydraulic lines? Do you just cover it up and let it sit?

Good idea to do a grease job before storing. Put dust caps on hydraulic connectors. Cover the exposed cylinder rods with grease. Protect the levers with a firm cover (see my video link at the end of this video) and then cover the whole works with a tarp (assuming it will be outside).
