Imagine actually having to pay for the noise level sensor. Lol.

as long as it is like a rain mode. that you enable it when you need it. and it will never be enforced on you. sure. I can use it leaving my home super early for my commute and being a good neighbor. just an extra feature. no biggie.

As long as the monitor is just that, a non obtrusive monitor, I wouldn't mind. It wouldn't be useful per say, unless your trying to sneak out of the house late at night or something, but simply measuring the noise isn't an issue. The problem are the laws which restrict these things. To some degree they are understandable, but it's a thin line. However, if these monitors are used as an intercept to your inputs to actively control the noise levels, that would be a big deal. Lets hope it doesn't.

It will, of course. It always starts with something benign. You know this.

@@Hornet1806 Obviously. But it's not like we have any real say in what the company wants to do, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Might as well hope for the best and eat dirt or whatever.

The fact that you're not outraged by this is alarming. This coming from a company that now manufacturers it's bikes in a communist country with concentration camps and is based in the country that birthed Adolf isn't surprising, though... Motobob obviously isn't a personal freedom advocate.
