MY THOUGHT ON THIS MOTORCYCLE
Ci sono voluti tanti giorni di prove, tanti giorni di test, mica che prima mi ero immaginato di ritrovarmi qui a “scrivere” una comparativa del genere sia ben chiaro. Io la KTM 990 ADVENTURE S l’ho comperata senza averla mai provata, avete presente quando si materializza nella testa un idea nuova, un idea confusa perché sinceramente mentre mi stavo dirigendo dal concessionario per ritirarla la domanda che mi sono chiesto più e più volte è stata “ Marco ma che c…o la compri a fare ? ”
Cosi come altre volte ho lasciato che l’istinto avesse la meglio, pronti e via, la moto è in garage, ricordo il primo giorno a metterci le pellicole per non rovinare la vernice intatta durata fin li ben 13 anni.
Sterrati, sentieri, mulattiere, portata in ogni dove, giusto per essere coerente e farle conoscere anche a lei i posti più strani, dove dubito che in passato ci potesse mai essere stata.
Poteva mancare la pista da motocross? certo che no, cosi via anche li, uno, due, tre… ma stai mica a vedere che si possono anche tirare tutti i salti, seconda, terza e via, lanciata…. 15…20…25 metri di volo con 240 kg.
La sensazione che il tempo si fermi, l’adrenalina che sale a mille aspettando l’atterraggio, perché io proprio non immaginavo cosa potesse succedere, in volo giù la manetta ed il ruggito dell’ LC8 che sale prima dell’impatto, per far sì che una volta toccato terra la 990 vista la mole potesse schizzare via senza fare un cratere a terra.
Sono qui a scrivere, quindi quel salto è andato bene e ne sono andati bene mille altri, ma come fai a trovare e ha capire i limiti se non la porti oltre il limite?
Infatti ci siamo arrivati, ha toccato terra più volte, ricordo ancora la prima volta, da lì ho capito che la pellicola protettiva per salvare la vernice sarebbe servita a poco.
Eh niente i ricordi riaffiorano proprio come la prima volta in moto di tutti noi, sprazzi di vita che ricorderai per sempre, l’incredibile è che possa accadere dopo 15 anni di fuoristrada, dopo decine e decine di moto cambiate, dopo centinaia di gare corse.
Questa è la KTM 990 ADVENTURE S, colei che salito chiede il rispetto che merita, che ti fa sentire un pilota, che ti riempie il cuore e che ti fa venire la pelle d’oca come da bambino quando per la prima volta toccavi una moto e sognavi un giorno di poterla guidare.
Come per la Ferrari F40, come per la Lamborghini Diablo gli anni passano e dai pc escono tecnologie diverse, sistemi più evoluti al quale anche per fortuna bisogna dar spazio, la KTM 790 ADVENTURE R ultima nata di casa KTM è qui fianco a te pronta a suonartele per bene.
Comunque vada e come ho sempre detto l’importante è mettercela tutta.
Se questo è il momento di compararla ad un'altra ADVENTURE forse più veloce, forse più facile, forse più…….
Voi che ancora ce l’avete in garage guardatela ancora una volta, la regina è lei e lo sarà per sempre.

OMFG this is mad. Mad respect homie, it's more impressive than Chris Birch's riding on big enduros. Im trying to train a lot on my 950 adv but, im not even at half of your skills, they way you maintain slide, especially around cone was freaking impressive, I felt chills when I saw it, and its even more impressive when you see shitty tires at the end.... Cant imagine what you would do on proper 90%off tires or even mx tires on big girl :D ;;;; Respect;

Impressive! I’m finding these ADV bikes clutches don’t grab like dirt bikes. The bikes are great but the clutch pulls slow and long like a rd bike.

Also... Dude, you NEED to try new 790 adv R or even better adv rally on proper tires... that would be sick.... first comparisons to old lc8 already shown it's much improvement, especially on weight and wiehgt distribution. It's also much thinner in center(that's one of beefs ive got with old lc8)

What else than training? Hard and perservering training! Evry day, all day long! Nothing else, like a professionell job... that's it....
Can you give us what tires are that and what pressure you're riding? Last time I rode in gravel pit after lowering pressures bike behaved 1000x worse, I literally couldn't ride it in sand, which is interesting. AFter pumping to normal, road pressures it was much better.... Never had bike/tires that behaved like this ;;;;;;;; ;)

Mi dispiace, sono spagnolo e il mio italiano non è perfetto. Qui in Spagna ci sono molti che parlano di avere un ottimo livello alla guida della KTM, ma fino a quando non ho visto il tuo video, non ho capito cosa può fare un dilettante o amater con questa moto. Guido la 1290 SAR e spero un giorno di fare lo stesso di te, o no, chi lo sa ¡¡¡ 😜😜
