    I used the alligator vice grip technique for the foot pegs on my 690. So easy. The pegs easily survived the last KTM Rallye. So they are pretty tough. Would recommend.

    Hey Josh, well, I have been anxiously waiting to hear when you "drop my name", and it was, as I kind of expected, the Pivot Pegz :) 12:47 I think they are bit of a novelty, but for me it helped a LOT with gear changes, as it tilts the foot just that little bit "automatically", and made a LOT of difference. Then another mention later on, and a dig about the Rekluse clutches (haven't got much hair to blow back, just sayin') 19:20....but when, I saw that John T Young installed one on his CRF450, I was sold, I'm getting old mate, and every little thing helps, that is when I actually ride the thing. So I never thought I'd EVER have my name mentioned on any YT channel, so thanks :) Cheers

    Thanks for the review Josh, the levers look banging. I recently broke the front Brembo lever on my 2020 690, the price of the stock lever from the dealership was so shocking I did similar to you but reckon I'll be getting a pair of the Nicecnc's and cheers for the "how to" appreciate it 🤘🏻

    Hey Josh, me again....I just wanted to add that it's good to read that some ppl out there are after some Pivot Pegz, and heaven forbid, some also have Rekluse's. BTW, you don't need to wait 'til you're arthritic, before you get one, by then it would be too late, as you still need to use your clutch lever from time to time. I know some riders remove the clutch lever completely, but I still use mine with gear changes. As they are pretty pricey, it's a BIG decision, but it WILL change the way you ride. 'nough said. Cheers

    Hey Josh, I have been buying NiceCNC stuff for years and had those footpads on my 690 and 1090 and have never had any issues. I recently got a 500 with Pivot Pegs and while they are okay, a solid oversize footpeg is plenty comfortable and has better feel of the foot controls when standing IMO. I ordered a pair but assumed the springs were the same it was good you showed they are not the same. BTW, coincidently the previous owner had fitted a Recluse clutch to the 500. At first it was weird but now I am used to it, it is amazing for technical riding. You look for more technical shit to ride through.

    Yep that's pretty much my opinion of the Pivot pegz mate. I'm not sold on the auto clutch though, maybe one day when my clutch hand has bad arthritis I'll change my tune on that 😬 Thanks for the comment 🤘

    I personally don't recommend aluminium for foot pegs for off-roading they get beat up pretty quickly with rocks and stuff & sometimes break at the base. KTM does rally pegs made out of STEAL for 100 euro a pair and the comfort is amazing. They all use them in the Dakar rally.

    Worth considering that the lever bolt holds on the bracket for the brake switch. The bracket will be stuck to the underside of the housing. Mine fell off when I recently replaced the stock levers. Additionally, there is a small plastic dowel that sits in a hole on the steering stem side of the brake housing and enable the pressing of the brake switch. Mine fell out. The brake switch is an inverted switch which means brake light is on when switch is off. I assume that the pre 2019 models are the same. Realising the exisitance of the little (4mm long) dowel and then finding it was a complete fucker.

  • @MVDBR

    @MVDBR

    6 ай бұрын

    Bro! I thought someone had dodgied my brake light switch up like that, I thought surely this couldn't be a factory solution 🤦‍♂ But yeh when I first took that lever off another day I noticed that tiny bit of plastic dowel and had no idea where it had come from so flicked it out the door 😅 Eventually I worked out what was going on and cut another piece of plastic to fit in that hole and shoved it in there with some grease so it doesn't fall out so easily. What a dumb setup that is

  • @mark8074

    @mark8074

    6 ай бұрын

    @@MVDBR Yeah I was going nuts working out how the brake switch gets activated. Eventually happened on a vid that mentioned the dowel and the penny dropped. I think the design team were on the Columbian thinking powder when they came up with that design.

  • @MVDBR

    @MVDBR

    @@mark8074 😅 yep. What really fucked me around, just after I'd lost that dowel not knowing what it was and put the brake lever back on, I was then messing about with the rear brake pedal adjusting the height and stuff. Then I noticed the brake light was constantly on. Of course I tore my hair out trying to figure out why the rear brake was triggering the light constantly before somehow figuring out it was actually the front brake 🤦‍♂ what a headfuck 😅

    Not a big fan of NiceCNC personally, but replacing that clutch lever with a shorty is a must! I would recommend you look at a shift kit for the 690, it is supposed to fix the crappy shifting of the 690. Both Vanasche and Rottweiler make a kit, though they look like they are stamped steel which I'm not a huge fan of. Either way it's on my list of mods for my 690!

    Those springs! 😡 I battled one side for hours, until iit suddenly popped into place. Then I found out about the zip tie trick. So much easier, and I wasn't upsetting the neighbours with loud swearing... As for split pins, mine came new with one missing, and the other just shoved in, unsplit. An easy fix at home, problematic outback if a pin vibrates out and your peg disappears. Bolts and locknuts seem better.

  • @MVDBR
