    Is the tdc clearance to head the same on the xc and sx versions of 300? Where can I find a service manual online?

    Gear oil is getting into my exhaust and smoking (2017 KTM 300XC with 220hrs). Can you post a video on how to fix that (think it's a seal issue somewhere in the bottom end). If you do I can purchase the tools and parts asap to get this thing back on the trail!

    Hey Eric Wahl, if gear oil is getting into your crankcase area and burning then that would be either a center case gasket or a crank seal. Either way you will need to break it down and rebuild it to the extent we did in these videos. Hope this helps! - Chance

    @@rmatvmc Chance, if it's a clutch side Crank seal, would it require splitting cases? From what I understand, you can do that with the motor on the bike. Is that correct?

    You could get that done by removing the inner clutch cover, gears, etc and then carefully removing the seal without damaging the crank or case. Just make sure to take your time. - Chance

    @@rmatvmc Chance, what gears would need go be removed? Wouldn't it just be the clutch and inner clutch cover that has to be removed?

    Hello, what fuel is best for a KTM 300 EXC 2017, 95 or 98, the manual recommends 95 but on my last outing I tried 98 and it felt better, thanks in advance, greetings

  • @rmatvmc

    @rmatvmc

    28 күн бұрын

    95 is a good all around, 98 can give you a little more power but some people mention having a hard time with cold starts when they run 98. If that seems to be the case you can try ethanol-free fuel and that can help the cold start issues.

    @@Liliros 98 has a better resistance to detonation in the chamber, which can cause engine wear/damage.

    @@rmatvmc Ok, I had understood that the 95 could be more harmful in case it could cause self-detonation and because it has more sulfur content, I have always used 95 in my KTM 300 17 and YZ 250 23 and perfect, but on my last outing I refueled with 98 in my 300 and it was better, cleaner, but if I compromise its reliability I'll stick with 95, thank you very much, regards

    any ideas on getting a piston circlip out?

  • @rmatvmc

    @rmatvmc

    11 ай бұрын

    Using a pick or small screw driver should make the job easier. You may also be able to use needle nose plier to grab the circlip and twist it out.
