    If your like me, and your getting on in years, then the 1290 sas does more than you could want. That Duke 1390 is a stunning work of art, but it's 30 years too late for some of us, but we get a blast from watching young guns, giving it full bore.

    I own a 2023 SAS but I'm definitely getting this new SDR next to it. Not in the first year, I rather wait and see what color schemes they come up with and then buy the "best" colors for me.

    Have a 390 Duke, do you think sticking a 1 in front of it for my next purchase would be a wise move. Great review, what a machine if the reliabilty issues are sorted.

    I have the 1290 RR is some suspect mods. I literally ride around the outside of sport bikes on the corners. The only issue I have is the gearing. I wish I had the 1390 closer gearing. 6th on the 1290 is way to tall and almost unusable.

    Right outside the corners yes for beginers, every 1000 cc todays bike are far faster then duke in corners and streights. Pure stupid ego BS.

    Thanks for sharing this review. Superbly able and dynamically capable bike no doubt. And for those fortunate souls who can afford one, and use it safely on great roads, free of congestion and without masses of speed cameras for company…(Spain?)…...fantastic. But for the ordinary Joe, living in the UK with our diabolical roads et al, isn’t it simply too much of an extravagance? The new 990 Duke would be a better fit; even the little 390 Duke looks a belter at £5600.

    Sounds like it be highly capable to have a pillion, which appeals to me .. Great job ktm think id pick this over a sports tourer, It ticks so many boxes and appeals to so many different people looking for different things from there motorcycle..

    ⁠@@bennettsbikesocial this channel has many great videos and I’m sure the subscribers value it. However there’s little for the average rider to take from another journo flown out to an exotic sunny location to ride something bonkers and unusable for most. Then there are the reviews that end up verbatim in various mags from the same journos (MCN, MSL) which is not your fault. And there have been 2 almost identical videos on the same bike in the same location from other channels in the last few days - again not your fault but some of your other content on your channel is much more considered and worthwhile. For me there is also a bit of weariness about the whole emissions thing with bike engine capacity creeping up every year to try to maintain the same power (or even more in this case). I don’t post just to criticise so don’t take my moaning to mean you’re not doing a great job!

    Hope the issues are sorted now. Had 4 dukes, every one had issues one way or the other. Elec probs, water leaks, m cylinders front an rear leakages. Cracking road bikes tho.

    18k to 20k bike and you have to pay extra to keep the quick shifter etc no thanks

    5 levels on how high the wheel comes off the ground. For a long wheelie you can even set it in the low level to fly a few cm above the asfalt

    Chad says, "Ducati for track, maybe KTM for the road because the Ducati is revvy and was derived from a race bike whereas the KTM is a road bike but is still very good at going round a track."

    For the everyday common road ways. No one “needs” a beast this awesome. But then. No one really needs the beast of any of today’s super bikes or cars. A Ferrari, McLaren or a Lamborghini. But they sure would like to have it. And for those who do, now can have them and for a whole lot less too. ATGATT. Leather up! Life is good!

    Hi All :) Question to B BikeSocial guys and all users of SDR....what helmet is best for this bike ( for me most important are : good aerodynamics with speeds >150 km/h and low noise ) GT Air 2 & HJC RPH 70 are mistake here - already tested...thinking about AGV k5 or maybe SHARK Spartan GT pro or ?? , please advise, best from your expirience ... thank you in advance

    Hi, thanks for the question. Considering the power and torque figures, plus what KTM had in mind when designing this bike, we'd strongly recommend an aerodynamic full face helmet. Our colleague John is the master of product reviews and came up with this helpful guide: www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/reviews/products/helmets/how-to-choose-the-best-motorcycle-helmet Personally, I'd be wearing either a Shoei XSPR Pro or AGV Pista GP, though Chad was wearing his Arai RX7V for this test.     Just announced; the 14900 super duper duke with 300hp, quad afterburners and the interstellar travel pack available in demo mode, which will get you to Mars, but which you can unlock for just £1Bn to get back home blah blah blah yawn.

    99 % of the people that fancy this bike wouldn’t even be able to use 50 % of the power and capabilities of what, for instance, a 890 can do. Sure, it’s a cool bike. But no one needs this kind of bonkers on the street. In fact: most of you will be happier on a bike half the cc and half the horses. Trust me. Been there done that.

    As an 890R owner I agree, never been near it's limit, since my own limits come way earlier. Don't think I'll ever crave a faster bike than the 890R based on speed alone.

    Mr Chad is a man on a mission when it comes to press launches, that's true. He's a man with great contacts and can turn his hand to any and every bike with plenty of experience to add into the mix. We also use Simon Hargreaves and Martin Fitz-Gibbons.

    i dont get that beast comment. the whole appeal of this bike was the unhinged animal characteristic that it had. now it seems like they turned it into just another bike. may as well buy a z1000
