KSP 3D Blender Animated Film: Those Left Behind

Фильм және анимация

Think about all those kerbals you left adrift on orbit, remember all those kerbals you incinerated on the launchpad, visualize all those kerbals around the Kerbol system waiting for that rescue mission that is not going to arrive. The moment has arrived, for those who have been left behind, to deliver one last message.

In my Imagination its Jeb: First succesfull duna-landing in the beginning of a playthrough, but the (very unrealistic) flight back to Kerbin was delayed some time into the future. Now, after vistiting even Dres, the Player builds his huge oribital Kerbol network, so its possible to assemble refueling outposts and the crew of the nearest comes to relieve Jeb from his longest Mission. No brainthirsty Zombies in my imaginary, always-happy, Disney-KSP

In my youth I once put a Kerbal on EVA on the Mun, it was 0.16 when they had just introduced that feature. Then, I turned up the time warp to max, and left my computer on overnight. I know that the Kerbal is just a few bits of code, and can hold no feeling or grudge against me... But sometimes at night I can still hear the distant screams of a Kerbal spending centuries in a space suit, frozen in place.

@@MarkTuchinsky bro, when I get an EAS alert of Kerbal invasion from the Kerbol system, I will stare you down in disappointment because of your neglect for Kurbane treatment. (not that I actually care about them, I mean there are quite a few of my kerbals that were grabbed by the Deap Space Kracken (DSK). One is in a Mk 2 cockpit that is [data:error] meters from the sun and no longer has physics applied to it. I have tried deep space missions to retrieve the kerbal, but I think he went out side of some sort of data limit and nothing will get beyond 9,223,372,036,854,775,807 meters before hitting an invis wall. Also, an entire base housing 34 kerbals is at the center of Moho, after observing an physics deformation event at the Moh whole).

@@MarkTuchinskyIn my latest Science mode save I've had mobile processing stations above every body in the Kerbin system doing science for 6 years straight. Half of my science has come from just those 3 space stations! They're only just now beginning to run out of data, now I have a couple options, send another module up to attach new experiments to the stations, or send a module to each station capable of returning the crew. They all have probe cores too, so can still act as part of my satellite network.

Hello jack! Before I uploaded this animation, I was dedicated to this project full time. A couple of days after that, I got a job in the animation industry and everything has been slower since then. I couldn't spend the same time in this project as before. Though slower, I've been steadily working on a new video since then. Quality and runtime is much higher than previous releases, so that also added an extra delay. I'm usually uploading updates in my twitter profile if you want to hear more about the project: @jgilhutton Thanks for your comment! See you around!

This reminds me of the time I was on a Tourist Mission going around the Kerbin System. I had realized I put too many Kerbals in my ship and I could only take a few back home. I had just enough space to have all my Tourists and Jebediah re-enter on a smaller craft that was connected, but I left about like 4 others float adrift in space inside the main section of the ship.

  • @1mariomaniac

You've probably either forgotten about or deleted the save by now (maybe) but if you wanted to send them back you would only need to perform an orbital rendezvous (which, while tricky, isn't as expensive as a landing), and then have the Kerbals eva over to the new craft, which can then return them safely.

I returned to the lander (who had like 25% fuel from braking and slowing down to land sucessfully) I ascended onto the air but then my engine ran out of fuel. My lander re-landed on the mun (but my landing legs exploded but somehow still survived) I went back to the VAB and built a rescue rocket. 4 orbits around Kerbin until i could burn to go to the mun. I was slowing down my Mun rescuer to land on the Mun but i didint slow down enough and i crashed. 4 times trying and it didint work. I gave up quickly and now Chad Kerman is now stranded on the mun.
