    Took 10-15 mins to install. Longest time to align snake clamp. Very tight fit.

    Jake, the Baldwin RS30077 is a half inch longer than the stock filter, also works great and doesn’t have the 3 little indentions that the Donaldson has.

    Agreed and we were selling those also. We still couldn’t get one trip out of them. Those three little things are just one of the issues. It really needs to clamp on and be reusable.

    I talked to you a couple of years ago about my triple stage UNI Filter that I made for my car which is still working perfectly. I have one of your UNI filters on the way and instead of using the hose clamp I will use garter springs to clamp the filter base to the airlifter housing. I will let you know how it goes. Mcmaster Carr has garter springs and I have some that will work already I am sure.

  • @fullaccessutv

    @fullaccessutv

    I remember you. I think the garter spring is a good idea, however it seems a little intimidating to drill your airbox and use the hose clamp but it is really very simple and the safest choice still.

    @@fullaccessutv Lol, I am not intimidated at all about drilling a hole in my air box. Long time mechanic here. I have the filter mounted in the air box with the garter spring installed and it is a tight fit. I am 100% confident that the filter base is sealed. I have to pull pretty hard to remove the air filter with the garter spring installed.

    @@fullaccessutv By the way, your filter is very nice! I look forward to testing it out. My car is supercharged. The filter oil had settled out in the filter, but I treated mine with Bel Ray Foam Air Filter Oil. My garter springs are pretty strong. After my air filter lid is closed, I guarantee that filter is not going anywhere and or sucking air around the filter base. I made sure to degrease the filter and air filter housing sealing surfaces before I installed the filter. Some people are indeed intimidated by the fact one must drill a hole in the filter housing but not me. You have laid the process out thoroughly and it is an easy task. I am just trying something different.

    @@bretstephensen8821 interested in you trying it. yes that UNI oil does run out of the filter, however I have heard with bell ray that people were seeing some dirt in the track. Maybe that oil is not getting in all the foam? Be interested hear what you have to say.

    How do you clean this? It appears that the Uni Filter Element is glued to the base. The OEM air filter allowed for the Uni sock to be unrolled from the perforated cage it goes over so you can work the cleaner in, thoroughly rinse it out and then squeeze it reasonably dry. If I can't get the element sock off for cleaning then I will never get it dry enough to immediately reinstall it???

    It should not be needed with the foam. The outerwear is more for a single stage filter like stock or K&N. The UNI red layer is similar to a outerwear.
