I loved this home movie. Four generations of Family celebrating Christmas together. The Dad getting his own movie projector, and he was so excited. lol I was about the age of the little girl getting that cute stove, for Christmas. I remember getting one too. It actually worked. I got little cake mixes designed for it, and made cakes. It was great.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful home movie with the world. It educates the current generation on what the holidays were about, which was interacting with family and friends. Now, family members spend the holidays looking at their phones instead of interacting with each other.

Wow my dad had the same plaid shirt and glasses your dad did. I miss Christmas with the family, from 1962 to 1995, some family passed away and others live on the other side of the USA. Best years of my entire life. 1962 to 1995

What we have here are silent moving pictures of a family eating breakfast, opening gifts, and holding conversations on Christmas morning in 1966. Though one family member, apparently Father, heralds the arrival of a new tape recorder, he obviously did not use any audio capabilities the machine may have offered. For indeed this KZread presentation is silent; it contains no narration or sound.

and just think some of the people in this vid were born around the turn of the century. just imagine all the changes they'd seen in society and technology in their lifetimes. even the soundless 8mm camera this was filmed on would've seemed spaceage to them (and was, believe it or not, state of the art at that time). love this old footage i don't care who's family it is although inevitably i find myself wondering what ever became of thes folks.
