It is the Royal Life Guards Music Corps' current music conductor, David M.A.P. Palmquist, who in 2014 composed Crown Princess Mary's Honnørmarch.
Just as the Crown Prince took part in the creation of his honor march, the Crown Princess also contributed ideas to music conductor Palmquist when he composed the Crown Princess' honor march. This resulted in a tribute march with several paraphrases of melodies that have special meaning for the Crown Princess.
At the funeral of the Crown Princess' mother Henrietta Clark Donaldson in 1997, the hymn "Eternal Father, strong to save" was sung, just as it was during the wedding of the Crown Prince couple on 14 May 2004 in Our Lady's Church in Copenhagen. This melody is woven into the Crown Princess's Honnørmarch together with the well-known Australian folk song "Waltzing Mathilda", the Australian national anthem "Advance Australia Fair" and the Danish royal anthem.
